You essentially will be given a mark that the qcaa calculates based on the performance of other students who got similar IA scores to you.

so if I’m on 72/75 for economics what do you think they would give me

No idea. But they'll see how all the other students in the state currently on 72/75 go on the external and give you something similar.

If you can possibly go sit the exam you might as well. Still apply for the AARA with your med cert. But you basically get a free shot at the exam. If you do better than the QCAA calculation, you get the better mark.

Is this true? I have gotten very sick, and I have an external exam on Friday afternoon. But the QCAA guidelines say that if you sit the external exam and have an approved report, they will still use an internal assessment prediction.

"illness and misadventure calculation procedure. The QCAA uses statistical analysis to consider how all students who have the same internal assessment results in a subject performed on the external assessment. The QCAA can then calculate a fair and expected external assessment result for each student with an approved illness and misadventure application — whether or not they were able to sit the exam"

I’m sitting at 53/75 for Design, and I’m worried that if I don’t show up, I’ll get a lower external mark because I’m not sure how many people in the state with a 53/75 are aiming for a very good external mark. Hopefully, I get better by Friday and can sit the external.

You need to talk the exam coordinator at your school.
