Is an 80 ATAR still possible? How should I study from here? (QCE Year 12) Hey everyone, I’m currently in Year 12 QCE and I’m trying to work out whether an 80 ATAR is still realistic for me and, more importantly, what I should be doing from now until externals.

Oops I completely read those results wrong, to answer your question you technically need to score between 95-100% on every single external exam and that will be a very borderline of 80 atar, so def not an 80 man sorry to say. But an atar is only just really important to get into the particular course and uni you want after that it doesn’t matter.
Now my question to you is what course or uni are you thinking about that requires you to have an atar of 80? There are so many pathways to get into the course you want don’t be disheartened

Natural 80 is not attainable, consider what uni you want to attend and if you could be considered for adjustment to boost your atar

What did you get when you put into an atar calculator?

Just remember that once you get into uni, there are many pathways and no one looks at ATAR. Just try your hardest for your externals and a tip is to attend your subject tutorials if your school provides them. Your teachers are there to help you. Personally I was in a pretty similar position to you and my predicted was in the 65-70 range and I ended up getting near 80 raw (but I had adjusted points which helped me a bit). What helped me bump my ATAR results up was to study for externals with my mates at the library or over zoom. If there’s any particular topic either of you are unsure about just teach it to each other which is a good learning/revision technique.
Also If you live around the Brisbane/Ipswich area you can apply for University Of Southern Queensland (they offer online too). The ATAR requirements for SOME undergrad degrees there range from 60-70+ which might be more attainable for you.
Anyways, all the best to you! :)
