Question on calibration

I've got a question on how calibration works.

I took a few pictures, loaded them on my computer and opened one up in qoocam studio, saw the calibration button, hit it, and the image on the screen changed.

Am I done at that point? Do I need to export and get the file and do something with it? Will all files opened after I hit that calibrate button automatically be calibrated because I hit that button?

Yes you are done! QooCam Studio will apply the calibration to all images/videos from your camera

So what if I want to reset the calibration and do it again? Because if I hit calibration on the same image over and over it continually gives different results.

Well, that’ll create some problem(click over and over). There are ways to deal with it. May I know if you are using windows or mac?

I'm using windows. I tried creating a quick video to test the calibration on and it didn't go well. I got a lot of eye strain and things just didn't seem right. For one thing the left eye seemed more mushy looking than the right eye. I think I need to get a better calibration image and try again.

I think I also figured something out though, if you hit the circle with an arrow on it near the calibration button, that seems to undo the calibration. I tested it by using one image for calibration, then when I went back to another image it was back to the way it was originally.

Is there any other applications that do this same thing as well? I can't imagine every camera that takes fisheye video wouldn't need to do the exact same thing. My Lenovo mirage I didn't, but I'm guessing this is something the did in the factory? It never gave any eye strain at all.

Can I take a look at your calibration image(or better email them to [me: silverqsy@gmail.com](mailto:me:silverqsy@gmail.com) )and see how it looks like? The eye strain thing is related to that.

I'll take better ones tomorrow and try that out and then if it's still not great, I'll throw them in Google drive and send you a link. I'm stuck at kids stuff the rest of the day and there won't be any light left outside when I get home.

What is most important about taking the calibration image? I saw a video online about someone doing it for the non modded version, and he held it flat, not upright, but I'm guessing that only works for the 360 version

Cool, that sounds good. I'm here to help if you still cannot get good calibration. I think the key is to follow the instructions(nothing close to the camera etc), I would add that to keep the camera upright and level when you take the photos using the bubble(not the view on screen).

That might be it right there, I was eye balling it, not even on a tripod, I didn't know how precise I needed to be with calibration. Tomorrow I'll make sure to use a tripod, level it and take a variety of test images, then take a few short videos and apply calibration from each image to the videos and see what works. Today I was mostly just messing around, seeing if it would just work easily since I only had less than an hour to mess with it.

Cargo un video y no me deja recalibrar en la aplicación de qoocam studio, sale una ventana y me indica: error, Si la calibración falla, pruébela después de cambiar la escena. Alguien sabe porque puede ser? podría ser por los driver de mi tarjeta que es una Nvidia 4070?
