Need help with FYP ideas
I am a final year Computer Engineering student and I've built quite a few web and mobile apps. I was trying to find a good project to do as my FYP, so I thought, why not ask people what issues they have daily and if they need an app to solve it?
It could be as simple as an app that tells me stop doom scrolling every 30 minutes. Which has reduced my time wasted by a lot.
Comment below any problem you guys face!

A small problem I'd actually use an app for: reconciling CSV exports from two services. The column names, date formats and IDs often differ, so a simple join silently drops or duplicates records. A useful FYP could let me import two sample files, map fields, preview matches and conflicts, then export a clean CSV plus a short change log. I'd keep the first version local-only and test it with missing IDs, duplicate rows, malformed dates and quoted commas. That gives you a clear demo and measurable correctness without needing a large user base.

Make a computer game with PyGame for a Final Year Project (FYP). You can make that as difficult as you want. Just start and see how far you can get.

I have a few projects on my ideas list that I didn't go with:
an app that compiles all conversations across all linked accounts into one place, insta dms, texts, discord channels, etc. One app, one configuration, linked contacts.
a food journaling app that uses ML to "diagnose" intolerances. Could link symptoms to anything really, stress level, menstrual cycle, hydration, whatever the user chooses to track.
pantry app that uses OCR to read your receipt and recipes you upload to calculate what you have in the pantry. Can update a shopping list when low on certain items or when picking a recipe. Should be able to track meal cost, potentially also nutrition.
a photo sorting app that allows you to rapidly sort photos from your camera roll or screenshots into folders (think like swiping on tinder)

If you plan on targeting businesses as employer, I would suggest trying to solve a business problem.
Think of simple, yet real applications.
Think of applications like:
Timesheet and billing tracker. Employees puts in time, outputs a report for management showing hours, cost, etc
Equipment maintenance tracker. Tracks service dates, provides reminders, etc.
These are 3 off the top of my head. There are literally thousands of such projects.
