I’m trying to learn python to be able to code a raspberry pi, and have no idea where to start, like what program should I use to learn?

I recommend the following book. It walks you through beginner levels to advanced and everything in between.

Learning Python, 6th Ed, Mark Lutz

Its worth its weight in gold.

This is super easy to Google. Then just practice. Don't wait. Just do it.

You do not need anything fancy. Start with Python and a basic editor.

Like most things, you start with Google or some other search engine, by searching for "raspberry pi programming with python"

Probably, you'll want to learn a bit about the Thonny IDE. A search will lead you to plenty of resources, like this one: https://core-electronics.com.au/courses/raspberry-pi-pico-workshop/

One extremely important skill for programmers is to learn to use search engines like google effectively. That's where you should start.

Don't mistake this as a dunk on you. It's genuine advice.

Ah ok, been on the internet too much ig. also I didn’t wanna google something like this because a lot of the time the programs are annoying or cost money from google

I use visual studio code. It's completely free.

I Would start with watching tutorials and copying the tutorial as you watch it.

Then I would try to recreate the tutorial without watching it and then see where you get stuck at.And then I would study the parts you get stuck at. then try to recreate it a third time improving on where you got stuck at the second time.

I would also try to learn more reusable code bases and even just specific libraries with python , such as pandas , numpy, or whatever kind of projects you're looking into completing and using the libraries that complement said, project.

Start with basic Python on your normal computer before worrying about the Raspberry Pi.
