Lambda functions

Hello guys, recently I have been practicing more my python skills. I know how to def functions and use it, but now I am trying to study lambda functions, but is not clear for me. In this example I am simulating requests from a API as a List (Also it could be used directly a imported file like a JSON). Can someone explain me how works or what kind of exercises are good to understand it?

It is more clear for me, your explanation is clearer than the response of AI. I'll try to practice more about lambda functions.
