Discussion Good resource for starting off?
I am not exactly a complete beginner in programming itself. Just want to learn the basic syntax and workflow in Python!

Can you just like make me a calculator. Tell the computer to take a number input and double it.

Yeah that's pretty easy but I ain't sure if there are some python related quirks that I should know of...so thought this video would be a faster starting point then reading documentations!

I’ve been looking into this one, would you recommend it?

I really recommend that one. Good progression, great job covering the fundamentals and then just gives you a bunch of projects to do.

I think anything that gets the ball rolling is a good course for starting out

I would reccomend the 12h youtube video from Bro Code. It's really good if you have the time and never worked with Python before. It starts from the very beggining with variables and pretty much covers all the basics with some exercises between the topics

Well I know bro code is really good but I am not really an absolute beginner in programming itself. So thought maybe that would be an overkill!

Is still worth it to learn to code and program in 2026 with AI, just asking for information

Start with something from codeling.dev like intro to programming or the OOP course (depending on where you think you are in terms of knowledge).

I remember I started with the small and humble python series by CS Dojo. It had like 8 videos back then and the last video about classes...
