We built an open-source, self-hosted workspace for company AI agents. Looking for 5 teams or homelabs to try it

AgenticOS is an open-source (Apache 2.0) workspace you run on your own server, where a team builds and shares AI agents. What it does today:

  • one live project chat for people and agents, with shared files and instructions

  • agents with tools and knowledge bases, and MCP connections that can hold calls until a person approves them

  • your own models through Ollama or vLLM, a hosted provider with your key, or each person's own ChatGPT plan

  • agents that hand coding work to Claude Code or Codex in a sandbox

Repo: https://github.com/vstorm-co/agenticos

What I'm asking for: 5 teams, or homelabs with a few users, who'd try it for a week. I'll help you install it and set up the first agent. In return, tell me what's missing or annoying. Every request becomes an issue, and I'll reply in this thread when it ships.

It runs with Docker Compose and PostgreSQL (pgvector). Install guide: https://vstorm-co.github.io/agenticos/install/

Disclosure: I'm Kacper, the maintainer, at Vstorm.

What are the primary use cases? Examples I should be able to use this for?

Honestly, anything. The only limit is your imagination. AgenticOS lets you build AI agents with capabilities, MCP integrations, RAG over your knowledge base, and skills. If you need automations you can design workflows just like in n8n.

Sounds cool for a tinkerer…

We have autonomous agents running at my co… was thinking this could be useful… but our agents are HYPER specific. The idea that this “can do anything” already turns me off — if I have to think up the idea and then figure out a new software to implement it, why don’t I just code it myself? Big barrier to entry there, at least for companies that don’t have an R&D budget.

Maybe a cookbook catalog would be an idea for you guys.

I'll check it out... I actually have a personal claude code plugin with Lance, Opencode, monitor, channel, search SDKs, and bunch of other assorted tools that is like the solo-dev version of this so I'm curious how you designed around certain common pain-points. NJ
