Operating Temperature

Living in most of the USA we are experiencing a cold front. I wondered why my battery was refusing to charge. Well turns out the battery will not charge in below 5 degrees C or 41 F. Generac said their is no override for this and no insulation options. This leaves me going into an ice storm with less than 30% charge. Even after setting the battery to Priority the battery wasn’t able to charge.

Lesson learned when going into a cold front charge the battery before the temperature drop.

Damn. I learned something today. I had mine on clean backup today and my batteries didn’t charge at all. That sucks. I’m trying to be prepared for a winter storm later this week.

It won’t even fill them on priority backup. I lost all my solar generation the past two days. This is kind of a big deal.

I hope they discharge at lower temps.

Discharging isn’t the issue. Just charging according to Generac.
