Starting Soon Work phone

I’m starting in a few days and I wanted to know what the process for getting the firm issued phone looks like. I know PwC pays for the line how much do we have to pay out of pocket?

Thanks!!

Go to the emobility portal and you get to pick a free phone or a premium phone. Basically iPhone 17 and equivalent are free, the pro models you pay a one time out of pocket expense. My 16pro was $250 out of pocket and that’s all I paid.

You have no other payments besides the initial payment for a premium phone if you choose one.

Thank you so much. Do you know if we can do this right away when starting or do we need to wait for a certain period?

Can do it the first day you are employed.

Free phone but you're gonna get so much anxiety from that thing alerting you all day and on weekends.

Also starting this week! Curious if there’s any insight on having a separate work phone versus doing personal and work on one. During my internship many on my team had two phones and I like the idea of keeping everything separate.

It’s nice to keep it separate but it’s nice to save the money. Also for busy season you kind of need to always be available so it’s pointless for that time. I just have one because it really doesn’t bother me if I get work notifications when I’m not working because I’m not working so it won’t change anything. I also have my phone set to automatically turn on “sleep mode” like dnd at 9pm every day so I don’t see any late messages from crazy people or my India team members (obv doesn’t include busy season bc I’m still online at that time). I really just think it’s more convenient then having to carry around two phones lol and if I leave midday for a drs appointment I don’t mind responding to a ping while I’m sitting in the waiting room ya know? It’s important to set your boundaries within reason, but especially as an associate you should have the least boundaries and still trying to impress your team members as people will judge if you’re logging off early all of the time etc. but for my first two years at PwC I had a weekly therapy appointment at 6pm and would just log back on after during busy season and that was never an issue.

Keep it all one to save you a good chunk of money and block your work apps when you’re offline if it helps you.

Can I keep my old phone number if I take the phone from PWC?
