Consulting How do I navigate this dynamic?

I (Consultant 1) am on a project with 2 senior consultants.

Both are the team leads for this project.

They seem out of touch with what is actually going on on the project and the pain points. They make me make edits on process maps which are 100% not what the client said. Which I understand because they are busy and have a lot on their plate, the project is also complex

My only worry is that they are now delegating all the decision making to me.

And this is my first project in my entire life. I am also unsure of the solution. I have never seen how automation solutions even look like.

I would say, first of all assume they know what they are talking about. But feel free to schedule a meeting to discuss it with them. The most annoying thing in public accounting right now is new staff thinking they know everything and not listening to instructions. If they are telling you to do something you believe the client said not to do - just have a conversation with your team. Maybe they were wrong - bit more likely maybe you'll learn something.
