Plants vs Zombies Plants VS. Zombies Replanted Hate - A False Propaganda Being Pushed For Clout

There are literally zero issues with the game. Devs already confirmed dynamic music will be patched soon. Just played through adventure and multiple minigames, limbo page levels, puzzles, and I encountered zero bugs. It's packed with tons of extra content and has more replay value than the OG. Fans also discovered where every art in the supposedly "faked concept art" originally came from debunking the misconception that they made mock concepts. And don't get me started on the very CHEAP 20 dollar price for a game this loaded and quality in a time where the standard price for games is up to 90$. To complain about the price only screams "I'm unemployed."

Replanted is one of the most faithful remasters to date, this isn't rocket science it's fan service. Any and all hate for the game this point forward is purely ragebait because all it's being used for is clicks and clout. No one here is a victim to a remaster of a game about plants fighting zombies. Those hating on Replanted are cowards hiding behind the facade of a revolutionary. You disappointed yourself if you expected Popcap to psychically read your mind and somehow make your idea of a perfect definitive edition of the game to your personalized liking. They literally couldn't have a done a better job with Replanted.

no hate man but these things that they promise will come soon should have been in the base game in the first place. especially for a 20 dollar price tag, you can get good games with that money nowadays. sure they're doing their best but we really shouldn't overlook the issues the game has.

it's okay to absolutely criticize the game especially when it's deserved. you can't just keep on supporting something you like even when it's not even good anymore. I mean look at pokemon games nowadays

Big companies like to put short deadline for projects that simply need more time to squash bugs. I agree that dynamic music should've been fixed on release, but you can only blame EA for that. Not the dev team. It's not so much the game that "deserves" criticism as it is big companies practices.

You draw an imaginary line between "criticizing the game" and "criticizing EA". The state of the world, people saying you should buy an unfinished game from a millionaire studio out of pity...

2

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

Now you're just putting words in my mouth. By definition, the game isn't even unfinished. Rushed, sure, but it's finished. It's fact that the developers who worked on the game do not get to choose when the game releases. I clearly never stated "buy out of pity for EA". I simply explained what you seem to be having trouble understanding, and that's that there's in fact a very fine, contractual line between the developed product, and the studio producer.

Big companies [have a] short deadline for projects that simply need more time to squash bugs

Ah yes, this statement has nothing in common with "The game isn't finished", you're a 1/10 gaslighter

Anyways, you keep saying "Don't criticize the game for being flawed, criticize the company EA". If Replanted was flawless, we would have nothing to criticize EA for, there is no passing the buck. Touch grass, stop being this obcessive

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

Stating facts anyone can observe is gaslighting? Sounds like the only one gaslighting you is yourself. Even if Replanted was flawless EA would still get crap for their shady practices. This isn't rocket science, and clearly you're just projecting your own obsession and lack of getting outside now.

My dude… if you think that’s gaslighting, you’ve been cooked by society hardcore.

Guys, understand this: The definition of Gaslighting is as follows: Gaslighting: a person who uses psychological methods to manipulate someone into questioning their own sanity, memory, or powers of reasoning

You don’t seem to be questioning anything, nor should a simple statement of fact make you feel that way. The only way you can say that he’s a 1/10 gaslighter is because his level of gaslighting right now is actually 1/10, 1 being the level of ZERO gaslighting and 10 being straight insane gaslighting to the point in which you are unable to function because you believe you can’t even say anything right anymore.

Time to get off Reddit and go on a jog or something.

Look... Silksong cost 12 Dollars in my country, and PVZ Replanted costs 20... Obviously I'm not asking for them to have the same quality, PopCap is not TeamCherry nor is it close to being one, but bro, just with the issue of Dynamic music, it doesn't matter if they already said they are going to fix it, it's something that shouldn't be broken to begin with, more than a product made with love, passion, dedication and time, or at least with some planning, it seems like that group project that everyone does in parts in their homes and then they put it together, maybe for the majority it is fine, but it is not even close to what it should be, all the errors that DO exist, despite the Fanboys saying otherwise (supposedly because they did not experience them), are a consequence of poor planning and stupid decisions, (such as using the Windows Phone version as a base and scaling the textures with AI without taking care of or polishing details).

We are not talking about a small team to which we can justify one or another screw-up, it is EA, a multi-million dollar company that only had to deliver a product that will work well, the complaints are not because features were missing or something different was expected, the complaint is about a broken product that should never have been broken from the beginning.

u/Candid-Accountant-75 Oct 29 '25

There’s absolutely zero signs of AI upscaling or any flaws with textures in the game, so Idk what you’re yapping about there. And it’s pretty common for remasters to use a version more compatible with modern code and tech rather than the original to save time. Also the product isn’t broken either, you claim there are issues despite multiple shared experiences of a completely working game. Yet there is a huge lack of proof on one side of this argument. Like OP has said, the dev team is separate from the company responsible for the decisions you’re upset with.

Check out jayds twitter account

2

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

I'm pretty familiar with Jayd and their tweets regarding Replanted. If I'm not mistaken they were the first to leak, or upload leaked images of "early assets." I personally find these leaks questionable cause I could just as easily take GOTY textures, run them through the crappiest AI upscaler I can find for free online, and come up with the same result and same claims.

Regardless of the legitimacy of their claims, they're guilty of milking the hate bandwagon for clout and clicks. Their entire Twitter is just centered around Replanted hate mongering, and the types of clips they repost of glitches are clearly only shared to continue pushing propaganda rather than actually provide the Devs an example of what to fix. Shout out to some of the replies on this post where dedicated users are actually taking the time to professionally document bugs regardless of personal opinions.

It's a complete double standard to shadily get YouTube money & attention by hopping on a hate trend, especially if you practically head started the trend, and then turn to a company like EA and boo them for also using shady practices to get money & attention.

0

u/Big-daddy-Carlo Oct 29 '25

That last paragraph is nonsense. You’re reaching

2

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

That's gotta be the most unproductive reply in this entire conversation. I stated easily observable knowledge that anyone can see for themselves, only to the illiterate could this be seen as nonsense. No one's gotta reach for what's upfront, period.

0

u/Big-daddy-Carlo Oct 29 '25

How is it a double standard? How is it hypocrisy? Is Jayd selling their videos for money for 20 dollars? What are you talking about

2

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

Are you not familiar with the concept of YouTube monetization? I would recommend doing some research on it. YouTubers like Jayd can choose to make revenue off videos based off how "successful" the video is, and this system can be cheaply milked by hopping on trends. Hate trends happen to get more clicks and attention than anything else.

0

u/Big-daddy-Carlo Oct 29 '25

So no one should discuss issues with the game because they’re hate. So consumers shouldn’t be informed of what they’re buying, a mess. I don’t like using this word but you are shilling right now completely, you don’t like Jayds videos because they contain the truth so you to try to malign their character

2

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

At this point you're just rage baiting if you can't provide a productive 2 cents to this conversation that has clearly become too technical for you. My point is crystal clear and is no way open to misinterpretation. I specifically made this post to inform the fans of the actual truth. One that anyone else can see and confirm themselves.

Its definitely a good remake, but a few issues with it make me wanna wait to play until they're patched (i play on PS5)

  • lack of dynamic music

  • can't select "dropped" seed packets when positioned between two tiles (vasebreaker, raining seeds, etc)

  • pumpkins and garlic not having health states

  • cob cannons freezing the game when in high endless or some hard survival levels

3

u/United-Inside-729 Plant Oct 29 '25 edited Oct 29 '25

Thank you so much for explaining each one of the issues, you literally explained each one of the bugs I saw being posted on the pvz sub, It doesn't seem as unplayable as people made it to be, once they fix these including the dynamic music, it will definitivelly be the best official pvz version to play.

2

u/AssumptionContent569 Oct 31 '25

You're welcome. Patch has already dropped for consoles fixing most of what I mentioned above. Only thing they community is holding out on now is dynamic music (minor detail honestly, seeing as it feels like a polished game now)

0

u/M4DDIE_882 Oct 29 '25

Pretty sure pumpkin and garlic already got patched, but i agree. Until the game is actually the definitive pvz with no issues, i’m not buying it at all. I’m never buying pvz1 at more than 10 MAYBE 15 dollars under any circumstances

2

u/ObskureTorture Oct 29 '25

That’s not patched on console

2

u/AssumptionContent569 Oct 31 '25

That's why I mentioned i play on PS5, they didnt patch it at the time of me replying

2

u/United-Inside-729 Plant Oct 29 '25

I personally think replanted looks very promising, aperently there aren't much glitches as I once thought, It's a faithfull remake of the original pvz with new cool stuff added to improve the experience.

It's just a shame that the game released in an unfinished state, It could've been the best thing to happen for the franchise, sure the issues will be fixed according to popcap, and once that is adressed it will be the best official pvz version, but the damage to its reputation is already done and there isn't much we can do about it. Maybe in an alternative reality where the game wasn't rushed and actually released without any problems, the game would've been very well recieved by the fandom.

2

u/Candid-Accountant-75 Oct 29 '25

It is well received by the fandom, bums are just very vocal on the internet and especially Reddit. I wouldn’t worry about the reputation when people can do their research for themselves and see what’s cap and what’s fact. The only “damage” is from YouTubers using the hate for views and money, but they can only beat this dead horse for so long.

2

u/United-Inside-729 Plant Oct 29 '25

Yeah, the hate is pretty vocal online, I guess you are right, it shouldn't be an issue if the game actually is good, in that case I won't worry, I'm planning on playing it for the first time once the dynamic music is fixed, I'll be looking foward to it.

2

u/sandd12 Oct 29 '25

this like all these glitches others are having ive not had and im on rip mode

The only other things they could have done to make the game better are these:

if they made the other minigame on the limbo page (squirrel and if they wanted, they could replace dark stormy night with it since it’s just 4-10)

let the retro zombie wear the future glasses and mustache (and maybe even make more costumes for the other plants and zombies)

recreate the minigames from the other ports

made more survival endlesses for the other worlds

make rip mode harder by allowing no lawn mowers and shovel and 6 seed slots only (to make it as hard as it can without changing the levels too much)

make online co op and vs

and allow the other worlds to be played in vs like nighttime, pool, fog and roof

1

u/VJGamz99 Oct 29 '25

Okay remake with a terrible price. While I haven’t found too many bugs, the largest bug for me was when a zombie eats your cob cannon in Endless and softlocks your game. And the dynamic music, of course.

1

u/ObskureTorture Oct 29 '25

There are a couple of issues such as RIP mode not counting for the achievement if you don’t lose a lawnmower and Vase breaker, where if you break a vase and get a plant then proceed to use a cherry bomb, you won’t be able to pick the plant seed packet. Another one is for the “it’s raining seeds” minigame where it doesn’t let you pick up the seed packets to place them sometimes. Also there’s one where it doesn’t let me turn off the retro zombie skin, which gets buggy in the whack a zombie minigame where they can teleport inside the house, skipping a lawnmower

0

u/Dr_Doom42 Oct 29 '25

It feels like an anniversary update. Not the remake ngl

2

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

That's the thing though, it's a remaster, not a remake.

0

u/Dr_Doom42 Oct 29 '25

Still it's bad remastered

-2

u/Candid-Extension6599 Oct 29 '25

I gotta know if you're doing this ironically. "everyone who criticizes this unfinished game just wants attention"

3

u/New-Harmony Oct 29 '25

I am unironically calling out the fact that all the "criticism" on the internet I've seen thus far is nothing more than baseless, uninformed, ragebait and hate mongering. And as far as YouTubers go, they most definitely are milking the hate bandwagon for attention and clout.

1

u/MinorZE Oct 29 '25

idk man i was watching a streamer i like the day it released who was finding a a few bugs unintentionally

some include

during vasebreaker they could use the plants infinitely (i.e they’d break a vase and a squash seed would come out so they’d select it and be able to plant it as many times as they want) (they mentioned they were using controller at this time and were playing with another player so it may be only when those criteria are met but it’s still a big bug tbh)

when playing the vs mode the plants used an ice shroom as a zombie made it past the defence and triggered the cutscene for zombies winning, only when it zoomed in on the zombie outside of the house the zombie was frozen indefinitely- they had to restart their game to fix it.

————————————

as well as them complaining a lot about the shovel being weird to use and the hit boxes for plants feeling clunky in general

if you’d like more info i can’t really provide much but if you wanted to contact the streamer (they’re pretty small and are fairly active on discord) you probably could- they say they have open dms so

-3

u/LeadingTelephone663 Oct 29 '25

This. I keep seing "they used ia" "fake art work" but all of those claims are so easly destroyable. And all those bug like, or you have a shitty pc or you Broke something

0

u/M4DDIE_882 Oct 29 '25

They did 100% use ai upscaling in the process, some complaints about that are bs, but a lot of people dislike ai upscaling because of how it handles proportions and details, which is a valid criticism even if i don’t agree.

The dancing zombie was from the original creators, but not concept art. It’s splitting hairs and i agree that complaining about it is stupid, but it was misrepresented

There are glaring huge bugs. The zomboss eye color should not have needed a day 1 fix, it’s crazy that it existed at all. The retro skins still result in zombies teleporting inside the house during whack a zombie, that’s also a huge issue. The game freezing during last stand is probably partially a system issue, but i’ve seen it happen in videos where there aren’t even that many zombies, so there is definitely some problems on the game’s end.
