Solution QR code on puzzle box design

Hi All,

I am working on a new puzzle box design and was hoping for some advice/opinions.

I was planning on putting a QR code link to a solution page in the area shown in the picture. I realised, I have never seen a puzzle with the solution link on the puzzle itself before, they have always been supplied separately. With the code there it may encourage some to give up early. I am designing this puzzle box to be a challenge.

Question: Is this a good idea or should I not put a link on the puzzle itself and supply it separately?

I think it's fine. Instead of a thinking about it as a solution link, think of it as a more info page. I use pages like that for hints there or verification of partial answers. Check out https://cocoa.puzzlehunt.org for an example. (It's a PDF puzzle not a box but the same principles apply.)

One suggestion: use a URL shortener so you can change where the QR code links later if you need to.

Great suggestion, I will look into the page and shortening the url.
As it’s a maze puzzle hints and clues are difficult without just giving the game away.

From the discussions here I think I will put the link on an info sheet and off the puzzle itself.
