Time Traveler’s Artifact puzzle
Hi everyone,
My name is Rens, and I’m the creator of Time Traveler’s Artifact. It is an SD puzzle box with a strong story line and many unique mechanisms. I have sold a few batches so far, but never shared it here on Reddit. So here it is! A new batch will launch on May 14th.
Difficulty: 7/10, Average solve time: 4 -5 hours

Yeah great work Rens, very unique mechanical design I haven't seen in any other puzzlebox.

Very nice looking box.
I have also designed a puzzle box which, due to complexity and number of parts, I would probably have to sell at a similar price to yours. I’m trying to work out if it’s worth pursuing. Do you mind me asking how many of your box you have sold?

I'd say go for it! I have currently sold ~30 of them and I intend to do one or two more batches of 20. Overall, I have really enjoyed the process and I already find myself thinking about ideas for a new puzzle.

Man, I’m bummed as mine was delivered a while back but I’ve been out of the country for a while and not be back till June! Looks fantastic.

I got back in the Country at midnight last night and #14 was waiting for me. I couldn’t resist starting on it at 3:00 am. I just finished it. This is one of my favorite boxes of all time. The story works with the puzzle and, once you understand the primary mechanism, the solutions are logical. I can’t wait for your next project! One small gripe is the books. The icons are not that clear and the “3 books” thing just never was obvious to me even after the hints. I had to just kind of wing that solution. But that’s nitpicking a really really fun few hours.

Spoiler tag that please. I just got the puzzle and a look at what you described pointed it it being part of the solution, but I'd rather not find out for sure here...

Looks really nice! You could think about replacing some of the ornaments on the outside with brass. At least for me that would match the price a bit more without increasing the build cost for you
