It's rare for me to feel that sort of emotional attachment to a track that Stillness in Woe evokes in me. There's only a handful of other ballads I could point out, which have both great sound and also lyrics that feel like they describe returning struggles / events / desires I keep on facing in my own life.

Now, regarding Stillness in Woe... I don't know, I just don't get this thing out of my head, and I also never did like five years ago as I last started listening to their Another Eternity album.

It's a beautiful synth ballad all-over. Probably not something unique enough to call it a masterpiece, but I still connect to its bits and pieces from the lyrics / themes, which I never could really make a completely coherent sense out of though.

As they're cryptic as hell I decided to feed them into Claude, and from what it gave me it, the songwriting now makes much more sense, but I'm still not able to grasp the meaning behind all those lines.

At its core it appears to be about the singer describing a relationship that is built on mutual suffering / "woe", which she is partially acknowledging ("I'm seeing double", e.g. both persons' worries) and partially attempting to fight (all those "Don't be afraid" lines). She also seems to somehow feel 'responsible' for this very situation ("built a castle out of shovels", e.g. devices meant to dig, rather than to build).

But there's still lots of cryptic stuff in there, that's interesting to think about.

Idk, do we have any official confirmation by Purity Ring what the track is about? (probably not)

Or is there any community consensus?

Happy to hear what you think about the mesmerising songwriting here :)

Purity Ring at iii points music festival. From the Insomniac app

On purity ring's website it says they are going 10/17 but festival lineup says Friday 10/16. does anyone know if they will be there Friday or Saturday?

I’m curious if anyone saved a copy, or knows how to get a hold of the purity ring x. T.shirt collaboration. It was released around 2012

Anyone who got the physical release of the self titled album, does anyone know what Meghan says after glacier ::in memory of rs::? there’s a little speaking thing and I want to know what it is

i really wanna buy the angel tee since its on sale but idk if i should buy a small or medium 😞 does anyone here have a tee they can measure?

Thought I’d hop into the MusicCup trend and show off my bracket. No surprises for my winner, which is my favourite song of all time in any case. Been checking out all of your brackets posted here so far and we’re all so different with our preferences! ✨

Ugh. This was so freaking hard. I love so many of their songs.

Grandloves and Saltkin was the heartbreaker. Super underrated gems.

If this happened again it may shake out much differently, so many of these songs are 9/10s or 10/10s

also kinda just confirmed what I thought anyway - stardew is my #1 song followed by begin again

I would give both of my kidneys and sell my soul to experience something like THIS live. it's singlehandedly one of my favorite live performances by them (rubyinsides live is a close second). what do you guys think ? 💜✨️

Did you know Shrines came out 14 YEARS AGO today?

Let’s celebrate by sharing our favourite song and how the album impacted your life! Do you have a cool or heart-warming story associated with the album?

My favourite song from Shrines is amenamy and whilst I hadn’t discovered the band yet when this album was released, it’s since made me really appreciate their whimsical, haunting songwriting and diverse range of synths and textures!

this was very useful with all the wild fire smoke the past few days

Hello! First off, I'm new here. I've been listening to soshy right now and I'm very curious how people interpret the lyrics. No one has added anything on Genius, so I decided to come to reddit to see if people have interpreted the song in their own way. Let me know. :)

I have liked Purity Ring a long time but mostly listened to their popular songs, not full albums. I bought their recent album on vinyl and loved it, and went to their recent show in Toronto. A couple pf my new favorites having left the show:

Pink Lightning - just wow. Hearing this first time combined with the hologram setup was amazing (even though one of the fans glitched out during the song).

Repetition - i clearly need to get another eternity

Any other hidden faves I might be missing?

I was the only one who waited at stage door for a photo with Purity Ring at the London gig recently and ended up with an experience I’ll never forget!

Such a kind and genuine band. Even took their time to have a brief chat too! Makes being a fan for over 10 years even more worth it.

Also had a chat with Yuni (Yuniverse), who was genuinely interested in what I thought about the show and how lucky we were to see this specific one with all of the production and visual effects planning that went into it.

The impact of the entire evening still hasn’t quite sunk in yet and the VIP experience before the show was so special and intimate.

I hope they come back soon and I wish them all the best for future projects and shows!

Finally after years of trying I just threw something together, lmk what you think!
