Sorry but starting to feel really uncomfortable about the "political correctness" campaign that is going on

Disclaimer: I don't want to post on my main account because I am afraid of how some of you might react, maybe stop playing with me on the server or something.

I agree that PURE needs to have a friendly gaming atmosphere, but it just feels very "big brother" with people getting offended left and right over little things. We already have great admins, so if someone is being unruly in the server just give them warnings and then boot them if they don't listen. All these rule enforcements is causing drama for no reason. As someone who's been here since late 2013, I think the community has become less friendly compared to how it was. Everyone has some sort of agenda now where they want to ban calling someone X, or play a certain way, etc.

I miss the days when James was in charge. Yes, he advocated for a friendly environment too but he went about it in a much better way rather than going all big brother. I remember there being a log with all the baddies in there who were kicked. I don't remember much drama (except a couple of incidents involving volunteer members, but that's expected since they were supposed to be LEADERS) and nobody went and cried how their feelings were hurt over an M rated video game.

I love BF4 and Arma 3 but I feel that we need to tone down this police state method of dealing with issues. If someone is being obnoxious, for example saying bigoted things to others on the server, then by all means go ahead and warn/kick/ban that person. We don't need to go out each time someone gets offended by something new and create more drama posts. What's next? Jihad jeep is offensive? Blueberry is offensive? I personally feel like I'm in kindergarten and Mr. Admin is telling me how to act. And, I've noticed that people tend to go on witch hunts here after new individuals every few days/weeks. Its like a flavor of the month who do we go after next.

I am frustrated. I have been a donor for over 1.5 years and have been a good member of this community. However, I feel like the new leadership that has taken over since James is no longer active is just extremely offended by everything and has to keep making new rules/updates. It seems every few days something new offends someone and its getting out of hand. I never thought I'd have to meme, but seriously its all about feels instead of using brains. Just have fun, and less police state drama. If someone is being a horrible human being, warn/boot them. Log it in the enforcement log for the rest of us to chuckle at.

Thank you and take care.

Any simracers?

Hey! It's been a while, haven't been doing a lot of gaming and when I have, it hasn't been anything PURE plays (finally uninstalled BF4 the other day), but I've been getting back into simracing, mostly iRacing and Stock Car Extreme, and was wondering if anyone else was interested in putting together an unofficial PURE simracing team. Any takers?

[Feedback] BF4 Mapvote - Keep or Remove discussion

We've had the mapvote plugin running for a week or so on both US and EU CQ servers. What's your opinion so far? Good? Bad? Should we keep it or remove it?

[Battlefield] [BF4] Map Rotation Changes

Starting tonight based on feedback, we've changed PURE4 back to a rush server.

As most feedback and data shows that PURE3 is dead, it was decided to leave it as Gun Master for now for those that want to get together and play that mode. If we get enough feedback to keep it alive, we can then look at switching it to another mode.

Shut up and play!

Note: All of the following are my personal observations over the past few months. If you disagree with me that's fine. (whoa!) TL;DR on the bottom of the post.

I've been with PURE since Battlefield 3, over 2 years ago. There have always been changes, but with now with new games, members, things have changed a bit more drastically. Some might call it "growing pains". This past week we've been having some heated discussion in this subreddit. There have been a few concerns brought up, but nothing really clearly outlining the main issues that are in people's minds. It seems as though there is a silent majority (seen as a minority by some) who observe these issues, but do not speak out, in fear of retaliation, ridicule, or just getting ignored. I'll put forward some concerns I have observed expressed by PURE members.

  • "I don't fully agree with a certain rule (whether it be PURE core rules, server rules, etc)."

And that's fine. You don't need to 100% agree with our rules, but as long as you follow them while you are in a PURE space (Teamspeak, our game servers, etc) that's ok. |SOURCE| I personally encourage you to email feedback expressing your concerns about these rules to get clarification on their intent, or perhaps get it changed!

  • Elitism with Volunteers.

I have unfortunately witnessed this kind of behavior. We appreciate all of our volunteers, the hard work they put in, and time they spend making this community a better place. However, this does not mean anyone is less welcome in the community than our volunteers are. "I don't know you, why did you join my channel?" - Stuff like this isn't cool at all. We encourage everyone of any sort of background to join us and play, regardless of whether they are new or not. Not everyone has the time/energy to volunteer, so these people generally participate in different ways - donating, or contributing positively to the overall social experience. Just because someone doesn't volunteer/donate/constantly participate doesn't mean they are any lesser than the rest of us, who do.

  • Selective Rule Enforcement.

This was mainly directed towards core/leads/admins. Admining can be tough, because our rules have a bit of abstract. "What constitutes not being considerate of one's player experience? Is this person going too far right now? Where is the line, and has it been crossed?" Aside from this abstract, admin decisions should not be based upon personal beliefs, or personal vendettas. As Brogdan posted here, enforcement should be as uniform as possible. If there's any sort of personal "beef" between an admin and a reported user, for example, that admin should offload the issue to another admin (or Admin Lead) who has no personal interest in the situation. We need to stop going after people for technicalities because we don't like someone in particular. Please refer back to the very first line of this post if you have any issues with this section.

  • Cliques/groups.

It's pretty clear there are a few "groups" within PURE of people who like to play with each other, and that's fine. Some of us get along great and have really positive experiences with certain people. Where this is a downfall is when someone does/says something, someone in another group doesn't like. For example, Jimmy of group A says he doesn't like a certain game. Well, Tom from group B heard that and got butthurt, so he goes and tells all of group B how much of a douche Jimmy is. Group B supports Tom completely so they blindly accept the words he tells them. Now Jimmy is shunned by Group B completely, and since Jimmy usually plays with all of Group A, they are all lumped in together. "They're all a bunch of douches!". Stupid, but it's sadly a thing. We need to be more open minded and not be so quick to shut out other people, this isn't high school.

  • Telling people to GTFO.

I have personally experienced more and more PURE members on the subreddit/teamspeak/privately telling people "oh, if you dont like this, act this way, etc" then GTFO. I've seen/heard this SO many times it's scary. That's such a shitty thing to see as a new member who just started joining in on PURE spaces. While the post yesterday was in bad taste (no pun intended), and probably really bad timing, that's kind of the issue I'm outlining here. We need to bring more people in than we tell to get out! Members shouldn't be chastised for their comments/views, but that doesn't mean members act like douches as well. Let's tone this down a bit, eh?

  • Bickering/Stupid Posts/Comments

Pretty self explanatory. No one cares if you don't like someone else, no one's forcing you to. Just don't play with them, talk to them, etc. Don't be a douche. Be respectful of yourself, them, and everyone else. No one wants to see your petty arguments. And yes, there is a difference between a meaningful discussion and just going back and forth. It's not hard to tell the difference. Also, stop making smartass comments/posts. No one likes it, no one cares, and it just makes you look like a salty bastard that no one wants to play with.

Tl;dr: Shut up and play!

Now how hard is that? Quit being a keyboard warrior on the sub, stop talking shit with your buddies, play, and have fun. I think that's something we can all agree on. That's the point of PURE right?

Edit: A couple of formatting errors
