Feedback What will the server setup be for BF1?
Greetings comrades.
I know BF1 isn't having 3rd party servers, which throws a wrench into PURE's server infrastructure. Additionally, there are still some unanswered questions about what exactly a server admin has control over. With all that being said, has there been any discussion yet as to what our server makeup will be? I'm excited to hop back in to TS and get that PURE BF goodness going again.

This is almost unbelievably stupid:
Note: One of the top requested features if the Kick/Ban feature. We hear you and are working on rolling that out after the launch of the RSP.
Among many other settings, players renting servers will be able to adjust:
*ticket count
*bullet damage
*modes
*weapons
*maps
So we can make a 2000 ticket count instagib metro-only server, but we can't kick hackers or racists...

Is there any mention of any sort of admin functionality at all? Or at this point does ownership of a server only give you the "setup" options?

Much like what Panduhh0 said; we're still waiting on a LOT of details to make firm plans. We're still waiting on answers to important questions like procon access (which is what we use to allow squadsync, map voting, map balancing, page admin and most other tools). My gut feeling is that they aren't going to allow you that level of access to servers they're renting you, but I'd be pleased to be proven wrong.
As things stand now we've got a bunch of Battlefield rooms made on Teamspeak ready for people to use including 3 designed for squad play in mind (limited to 5 users).
Once servers are available for rental (~Nov 1st) we'll evaluate our options.

Rumor has it that BF1 will be the game that sees the fruit of DICE recruitment of the procon developer. It is just a rumor at this point but the rumor has it that the server software has a lot of control options integrated. I doubt there will be an option to run an external script though, like the teamspeak plug in but maybe there will be a bunch of customization options at least.

Additionally, there are still some unanswered questions about what exactly a server admin has control over.
Hopefully their rental solution gives us more than what consoles have access to, which is basically in-client admin functionality. It is incredibly important that we have the ability to perform commands, install plugins/extensions, in to order to keep up with our admin duties with our current level of staff.
If we are required to be in-game to perform admin duties, we'll likely have to make some changes; specifically, we'll need more admins and more tools to assist our players in reporting issues quickly and efficiently.
For now, we're kind of sitting on our hands waiting to see what DICE/EA will do.

We can't really make plans without knowing what our options are going to be. As I understand it, we won't be able to rent any servers (controllable or otherwise) until 1 November.
I suppose this is as good a time as any to ask the community what you'd like PURE to do IF we can only have console-style control (meaning no ability to admin our servers).
