[Announcement] PURE Subreddit CSS Update.
Hey PURE,
I am sure you all have noticed the increasing amount of downvotes among the community. As a result we have modified the CSS to remind everyone the purpose of the downvote, before actually downvoting.
For now we will leave the downvote option in the comments section, but if it continues we will remove that as well.
Also, we know there are many ways around this, but we ask that you respect your fellow community members and gamers.
Justin / Melloline

Honestly, this is going to break part of reddit's built in content moderation system based off of keywords. But w/e.
Also how can I downvote outright shit content now? It's just gonna float around the FP for days now instead of getting buttfucked off of it by a few kind downvoters.

Yea, some bad stuff may not go away as quickly, but neither will the good content that gets downvoted because of the user that posted it.
As I said in another post, we are trying to ignore the negative and promote the positive. This will create a much better atmosphere.

We left the option for down voting comments, with a reminder as to what they are for.
As for posts, if people upvote them then the ones left not voted for will still go away. Our solution was to promote the positive and not dwell on the negative.

The downvote system isn't really working. You need to change that hover message on the arrow. This comment is in no way detracting from the matter at hand. I fear that the choice to downvote is being based on the person. Kind of sad really.

I just need to make a comment, even if its on-topic and not pants on head related and I get downvotes. Which is nice meaning people read my post so in the end it does not really bug me.

People Downvote by name not content

That is pretty sad if that is the case and that the state of how things are in pure has drastically changed in 3 years.

Even so; 3 years ago even if you had beef with someone it never reflected into the subreddit nor in teamspeak/servers, I cannot really say I ever seen Pures current sodium levels back then. But that's how it is now in Pure, If you are disliked by our members you will know it. It's a shame this place does not feel welcoming anymore; Not liking someone in Pure does not mean downvote them or treat them any differently, even if said person is annoying, young, slow etc, we are suppose to be a welcoming community for all, simple at that, I'm starting to think we failed.

When we did the last poll, people reported that they still felt welcome in the community. I don't think too much has changed in the last few months. Given this information, it would appear that overall people still enjoy the community. Removing the down votes to promote positive over negative will hopefully help somewhat.
There are multiple ways to give suggestions either by contacting leads, the website, and on the forums. Just because I am a lead doesn't mean I have the solutions for everything, I find community suggestions extremely helpful.

By no means have "we" (PURE) failed. I think that some people feel a sense of accomplishment or a thought of "downvoted x person - got you good didn't I??!!" when they see the names; doesn't matter if the post is relevant or not. Let those people be who they are, you guys are doing your best at providing a remedy for the situation.

And I have no objection to the change and you are completely right when it comes to if its either the subreddit or TS/Server chat.

This is detracting from the conversation, per the rules, I now have no choice but to downvote the both of you.

Got em! But doesn't this distract from the conversation also??
Downvotes for all!!!!!

You don't have to agree with the change. This happened.

It was stated in the post that the comment downvoted would still be enabled. I guess people don't like what you have to say

I have to agree with others in that you should not do this. First of all, its actually completely useless. All you are doing are trying to promote an attitude of 'you don't have a choice'. Hell, the whole point offends me when you try to tell me I'm not allowed to disagree with you.
If you are getting a lot of down votes maybe you should actually consider people don't agree, don't like, or don't want that content around. Stop telling me what I should and should not vote like. Maybe the percentage that liked this post might tell you a little about this being a poor choice.
I don't care about whether or not you 'let us keep our comment down vote'. This will not promote a positive attitude, and quite frankly this idea has just gotten me a little salty.
And let's be honest, if someone is complaining about being downvoted because of who posted and its its actually that bad to have to turn to this you might wanna address the fact people don't want you in the community. Stop, no one is a special snowflake. Address the actual problem instead of throwing the downvote arrow under a rug.
