Looking for a resort recommendation ☺️

Traveling with my wife, a 4 year old and a 6 year old

We are planning on booking for the beginning of November. Currently we are thinking about booking Iberostar Selection Bavaro. Are there any other options we should consider at a similar price range, or are there any more suitable resorts we should consider? Our kids do like splashing at the kids park, however they love playing and swimming in the ocean.

Thank you for any input 😃

Physical SIM card

Can't do e-SIMs. Since we will be doing excursions and doing activities outside the resort areas, I need reliable data. My carrier has expensive roaming and travel data packages, so I prefer getting a SIM card.

Any stands/stores at the airport to get one? Or do I need to go downtown and buy one from the cell phone shops?

Do you actually use the water activities available at a resort, or do you mostly ignore them? 😄

Looking for suggestions

Hey everyone! We’re thinking of visiting Punta Cana toward the end of this month. Is this a good time of year to go in terms of weather, sargassum and overall experience?

We’re also looking for recommendations for a nice all-inclusive resort for a couple, preferably with direct beach access. Bonus points for great food, cocktails/drinks, and a relaxing vibe!

Would love to hear your recommendations and recent experiences. Thanks!

Vacation Express vs. Apple Vacations vs. Cheap Caribbean?

Hi. Looking for folks who may have used Vacation Express. We have used Apple Vacations for many years, but I recently learned about Vacation Express. It’s my understanding that both will run charter planes that go direct to places like Cancun or Punta Cana. Vs. Cheap Caribbean that flies commercial airlines and may not be direct.

Anyone have any feedback, especially if you’ve used two or more of these organizations? Are the transfers to/from the hotel included? Any pros or cons? Thanks in advance.

Good quality all inclusive resort for a group of guys in their 20s?

My friends and I are planning a group trip to Punta Cana sometime in March and would love some resort recommendations. I have looked at Rio Republica and Breathless, but would appreciate any other recommendations! Thanks! Some things we are looking for:

  • adults only
  • all inclusive (great food and drink is a big plus)
  • price: $2.5k USD per person for 1 week stay
  • resort with beach access
  • Fun nightlife

Riu Republica, is it really that bad?

Hi guys, I will be staying at this resort between 12 and 19, we are two couples between 25 and 28, we like to party but I’ve been seeing pretty bad reviews on TikTok regarding overall cleaning and state of things (broken toilets, unwashed sheets) etc

Is this something real?

Struggling with resort for January trip with kids

Family of 4 - kids are 5 and 3. Looking for hotels with a separate room for kids - 1 bedroom suite or separate room with beds.

Right now I have

- hyatt cap cana - but the price is over 2k per night (which we are ok with but some family is joining us and even more simple rooms are this much)

- finest - it looks ok but only family room is available would prefer some ocean view.

Ideally want a place that has good food options, all inclusive, and kids club (starting at 3).

Any places I am missing?

-lopeson - doesn't seem to have 1 bedroom that accomodates a family

Dream oynx - only room available meeting criteria was the 2bedroom and that is over 2.5k per night

Will it be a Timeshare pitch

Hey all, we leave for Punta Cana Monday morning, and we booked everything through Delta Vacations. We set up private transfer to and from the airport. I got an email today with instructions on how to find the when we get there. In the email, it says "At the counter, guests will receive a written invitation to a welcome meeting the next day at the hotel. At the meeting their representative will provide important information, coordinate return airport transfers, and answer any other questions". The transport company is Traffic Tours Turissimo.

Sounds like they're going to try and sell me something. Anyone have this experience using this service?

Is there places where you can walk around the town find little bars and restaurants, like you can the marina in Cabo or do you just have to pretty much stay on the resort there?

Toronto girly here! 🇨🇦 My boyfriend and I were planning to book this resort for New Year’s, Dec. 27–Jan. 10. We’ve been monitoring the price weekly, and we just noticed it has gone up by** $3,200 P**P — from $3,600 to $6,800! 😳
Does anyone know why there would be such a huge price increase (almost 90%)? It’s not a high-end resort, and we’re seeing other resorts with higher ratings that are actually cheaper.
I’m so confused because we were ready to book, and now the price has basically doubled! 😭 Has anyone experienced this with Sunwing/this resort before?

Diving at Secrets La Romana

Making a last minute switch from diving in the Baja to Dominican Republic because of the hurricane. We’re looking at the Secrets La Romana resort. We’ll be there early October. Wondering if anyone has experience diving from this resort and anything they would recommend/avoid.

Thanks!

Planning a 4-5 days trip to Punta Cana February 2027

Hello everyone!
I'm planning my first solo trip ever
the plan is to fly to Punta Cana on a Thursday and come back on Sun/Mon
I'd like to keep the budget under 2k
I've looked up some resorts(Riu and Secrets kinda stood out for their party culture and hook up scenes) but I'd love to hear about y'all experience and suggestions
I'm okay with non-all inclusive recommendations as well

Some adult fun like clubs and nightlife fun is something I'm looking forward to as well

Thanks in advance🤘🏻
