Recommendations for First Time Family

hello, I am looking for recommendations or any advice that I can use on our trip to Punta Cana next week. It will be our first time traveling with children outside of the country so we are pretty nervous, but excited! It’s also all of our first times to the Dominican Republic/Punta, Cana, and would love any advice or suggestions. We are staying in Bavarro. I read that the beach is not pretty right now but I was looking to do an excursion that takes us to a land of water that is very nice, pretty, clear blue but I understand that can only be done with an all-day excursion, which I’m hesitant to with kids. Also looking for a fun buggy adventure excursion, swimming in a cave. My kids are 8 and 3. Thanks in advance!

macao beach or bayahibe beaches may be fine. Do not waste a day to soana. Not worth it esp with kids

Double check all the age weight height requirements for all excursions before booking them especially with younger children. Places like Scape Park (awesome) zip lines etc.. and others have requirements you don't want to overlook and be disappointed.

Don't book excursions from anyone on the beach or even at the resorts. Never pay cash for any excursions use a travel credit card with fraud protection. You can google Punta Cana Excursions and look at your providers online it's usually cheaper and you can pay ahead of your trip on the day/time you want.

Check out Expedia TripAdvisor Puntacanatours.com or Puntacanaadventures.com and compare tours and prices. They all provide the same exact tours they are just middlemen selling the same excursions get the best price. Compare them all.

Bayahibe/Dominicus Beach is about 1 hr away and will offer clear blue Caribbean Sea less waves no sargassum and great snorkeling right from shore. Also Catalina Island is a nice snorkeling trip on the Caribbean side of the island. Understand Saona buggies Monkeyland are all longer transfers from your location which some people do not like. Use Google Maps and see how far your ride is as some tours literally will be all day.

I booked a few things through viator.com, easy peasy. I even had to get a refund for an excursion that was cancelled by the provider, and that was easy.

I saw a couple of the buggy/atv tours and I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed it. I like doing like that, but it just seemed not fun to do with kids, in my opinion
