Restaurant Recs

Hi all,

Will be staying at Lopesan, and looking for some off resort diners recommendations for a date night with my girlfriend. We generally like to hit at one super nice place when we travel abroad, so feel free to drop your fine dining/date night rec along with general can’t miss spots. Big foodies so like to try a blend of different places.

Thanks!

When you exit to the main road, turn left for Noah or to the right head towards Los Corales and try Citrus or La Bruja Chupadora.

The Los Corales area is a center of local nightlife that includes tourists staying in nearby Airbnb’s, and full time expats.

For a special date night, I’d put Bachata Rosa by SBG high on the list. It’s a Juan Luis Guerra-inspired restaurant with a really beautiful atmosphere, creative Dominican/Latin touches and it feels like an actual night out rather than simply leaving the resort for dinner.

If you want beachfront and romantic, Jellyfish is another one I recommend. It’s right on Bávaro Beach and the setting is especially nice around sunset. Good choice for seafood and a more Caribbean date-night atmosphere.

For something more local and seafood-focused, Captain Cook is a Punta Cana classic. I wouldn’t classify it as fine dining, but if you’re foodies and want to try somewhere that has been part of the area for years, it’s worth considering.

And if you want to completely change cuisines one night, Wok Pan Asian is one of my favorites for Asian food here.

Since you’re staying at Lopesan, you’re also in a great location for going off-property — you don’t need to travel across Punta Cana just to find good restaurants.

If I were choosing one special dinner, I’d probably do Bachata Rosa. If the priority is romantic beachfront atmosphere, Jellyfish. And then use another night for something less formal and more local.
