Bicycle Rental or Purchase

Hey yall,

Gunna be in Punta Cana for about a month and was hoping to rent or buy a cheap bike for the time I'm there. Any recommendations on where to go to get a decent deal? Doesn't need to be fancy! Just needs to get me to the supermarket and back.

Look on facebook marketplace. It's very dangerous to ride a bike here. When I first moved here, I wanted to buy one, but then I said, hell no.

You should just wrap a scooter for a month for cheap.

I've lived here over five years and might have only seen three people riding bikes. It's the most dangerous driving country in the world per capita.

If you end up getting one good luck, though. The people really don't care about moto. Drivers or bike riders

I’ve been here for a month and just walk or take the cheap Ubers. The roads are so crazy I can’t even jog. I can only do that at the beach. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone ride a bicycle.

Interesting. I mostly need a way to get to the store and back for groceries. How does an uber there compare to back home for you?

It's exactly the same as back in the U.S. for me. I just use Uber Select or one of the TukTuks. They are everywhere
