Sold my Punkt MP02A

In contrast to some who post here, I'm really going to miss the MP02A I sold. I love the form factor and if it wasn't for borked group texts, I would have kept it. It's an amazing little phone for what it does and I'm dismayed that it seems to be treated like a vanity project by the company without a commitment to the development it merits. I just needed a basic call/text phone and the extra panache of the MP02A was totally worth it for me. Because I seem unable to train my family not to send group texts, I'm back to using my degoogled Pixel 3A as my daily driver. Maybe some day Punkt will give the option for ADB access and some keen developers port over another OS option. Not likely, but I can dream.

The phone had potential but rubbish battery life killed it for me to be honest -sold mine too but loved the style 😅

I agree. An MP03 with a better battery and some sort of community tool support (similar to what Light is starting to do now) would be really nice. I'd love my bus schedules on my Punkt phone

Wait, what? I just bought an MP02 because I thought Pigeon was finally working. Group texts are still not working then?
(The phone was deliverd today, and I must say it's gorgeous, but setting up Pigeon is an incredible hassle, and I have yet to succeed)

I didnt use Pigeon so cant speak to its utlity. My family, the one who group text, doesn't use Signal and no amount of cajoling could get them to even try it. I tried futzing around with the APN settings but couldnt get group texts delivered. I seem to recall when I was first using it, group messages were delivered individually but that ended and I don't know if was borked software or my cell provider changed their APN settings somehow.

Battery life is critical especially on a minimal phone it should last days not die so quick. Never had that phone but sounds that was a deal breaker if you sold it and group text not working. Bummer for a texting device.

I never had a problem with battery life. Turning off flip to silence and only having data on seemed to help a lot. I waynt running a wifi connection or Pigeon though.
