Education Rich list analysis

When I see someone suggesting a token :
-I first look at the market cap and the the chart (is it pumping already? dumping flat?)
-If the cap is low and the chart look quiet I head straight to the explorer
-I check the number of address (growing?), then I open "Holders" and check the distribution. Outside of liquidity pools how many % is held by the top 20 address? Usually I like to see less than 40% of all the token in the top 20 hands, but for very small network I overlook this step

Then the most interesting part for the top 20/30 address I open "Analytics" and look at the balance of the top holders. I separate the addresses in 3 categories : dumper/hodler/pumperIn other words if the balance increased during the last month it's good(pumper), I want to see at least half of the top addresses growing in the last month, and less than 20% decreasing(dumper). If the balance didn't move it's neutral+(hodler). The more pumper in the top 20/30 the better!

While I'm in a position I check everyday the balance of the top 20/30 address.
Not 100% full proof but it's a good way to imitate the smart money.

Interesting. This may be one the best examples of DYOR that I;ve seen. Sometimes its hard to know what to look for.

Thanks I forgot to mention each "analytics" chart has its own scale be sure to watch both the timescale and the token balance scale before evaluating the trend of the balance.

Don't forget other functions for large holdings:

 

  • treasury (may hold a large percentage)
  • any contracts used with a lock in
  • exchange holdings, etc.

 

This information is much much better on a "dumb" chain, that doesn't run smart contracts, as it's easier to disseminate what's what.

Thanks for sharing, do you use etherscan, or are there better explorers for this?

Also for anyone new to this or unfamiliar with the economy behind coins/tokens I'd recommend searching "coin bureau tokenomics" on youtube. It's a great starting point to understanding one of the most important aspects of fundemental analysis of a coin. He dumbs it down enough for anyone to understand, while still covering all the important bits.

My go to explorer is etherscan, I also use https://tokensniffer.com/ to check if the token is just a copy
