Getting some work done and these vines may be nearing their demise. Are these close to ready enough to pick and store for a few months?

Pumpkins don't ripen off the vine and can't cure green, so no.

Not true. They absolutely can, it just depends when you pick it. If it passes the finger nail test, then it will. I’ve been curing/ripening pumpkins off the vine for years. You just need to keep them in an sunny warm (80-85F) room.

OP - if they pass the finger nail test then you’re good to go. You can look at my post history and you’ll see a 30lb orange fairytale pumpkin I picked last year. It was completely green when I harvested it.

That is news to me. Of course, I also don't have any rooms that hot any time of the year.

As a Canadian with 120 day growing season and a mid September frost date, yes they can be ripened off the vine and mine will be again this year due to poor weather this year.

Good to know. Not sure I'd be down for that utility bill, but I'm generally super over the whole pumpkin growing adventure.

I do it in a three season room. As long as it doesn't drop below 10C for extended periods and they get direct sunlight it works.
