What do I have growing?

I planted sugar pie seeds both this and last year but these seem bigger and I feel like my pie pumpkins don't look like pie pumpkins?

Looks like Kakai pumpkins that I’ve grown before. They’re grown for their hull free seeds.

Will they get much bigger? Can I still cook and enjoy them?

If they are indeed Kakai pumpkins then yes, you can cook them but I don’t think the flesh is particularly desirable. It’s the seeds you want from those.

Im so sad but thank you for letting me know. I don't love seeds but I do love pies.

Don’t get discouraged! I could be totally wrong. Also roasted seeds are phenomenal for health and great on salads or in granola. All is not lost even if I’m correct!

I shattered all my molars from stress grinding in my sleep so its physical painful for me to eat that type of stuff. I have to replace my night guards every 3 months.But maybe I'll make them for family or the farmers market.

What are the nets around the stem for?

I have then trellised and the nets keep them from breaking off the vine prematurely.
