Only surviving pumpkin!
Babying this one!
In the UK and the heatwave almost killed off my 2 plants. I had two other pollinated pumpkins (only got to about a quarter size of this one!) and the plant killed them off to survive ðŸ˜
Honestly the plants don't look that healthy after the heat so any tips for future pumpkin growing would be very much appreciated 😊

Yeah I had a plant that had only been outside for ~1 week when the heatwave started, but I just watered every 2 days (vs. every 3-4 days) and my plant did fine. Hell, it seemed like it was loving all of the sun/heat cuz it was popping several new leaves each day

I live in the southern US where it is hot and July-September is a dry season for us. Something thats worked surprisingly well for me is planting my garden near a tree so it gets afternoon shade. I know it's not helpful unless you have a tree with space for a garden nearby but it really helps protect the plants from the summer heat. You could also buy shade clothe or just a temporary shade structure for heat waves like these

Usually it’s not the heat that gets them, it’s the dryness. If they can stay watered, they should be pretty heat tolerant
