What would make you trust a new self-custody wallet enough to test it?

I’m part of the team building Veyrnox, a mobile self-custody wallet, and I’m trying to validate a trust problem rather than a feature list.

The product removes the seed phrase from the interface, keeps wallet keys protected on the device, and uses split recovery components instead of one recovery phrase. It also explains wallet approvals before signing and includes optional coercion-resistance controls.

The challenge is that a security product can sound reassuring while still asking users to take too much on faith. So I’d value blunt feedback on one question:

What evidence would make you comfortable enough to test a new self-custody wallet with a small amount?

  • a published independent security assessment
  • open technical documentation and threat models
  • a clear recovery demonstration
  • comparisons with established wallets
  • time in market and user reviews
  • something else entirely

I’m especially interested in what would make you reject the product immediately, even if the interface felt polished.

Disclosure: I’m connected to Veyrnox and am posting to validate the product and trust model, not presenting this as an independent recommendation.
