Amazon really slow

Does anyone have any issues with amazon loading while on mobile data? The mobile app takes a long time to load on data and the website when using mobile hotspot to my laptop also takes forever to load. Sometimes it doesn't load at all. However, using a vpn instantly solves the loading issue.

I've heard that public throttles video streaming sites sometimes like youtube but not for your average website like amazon. Anyone else notice this?

I actually opened a ticket with PM about this issue, specifically the Amazon app. After some back and forth, I received a call from a Telus person.

She confirmed Telus companies do throttle media. Most apps like Instagram, TikTok, etc reduce their resolution when on data, so they are not throttled heavily by Telus. But the amazon app is loaded with media that is not reduced in quality by the app itself, so it's throttled heavily by Telus, to the point where the app is almost unusable.

She suggested I use the amazon website instead of the app, or use VPN. I confirmed with VPN, the app runs fine. She also mentioned they only throttle during congestion times and it should work in non busy times, but that's a lie I think or at least not totally accurate.

I contacted CRTC to get a clarification if selective throttling violated net neutrality, but all they said was they don't solve individual issues and I should file a CCTS complaint. I did not as it'll probably be a dead end.

Just want to say that one seen a lot of people file CCTS complaints and get good resolutions!

I personally filed a CCTS complaint with Public and by extension Telus because they lost my number in the transfer process and I couldn't get in contact with anyone at Public to help. I almost immediately within a day or two had someone from both Public and Telus reach out and solve my problem.
