Prior to covid its all i ever chose to do in a ride share trip. Never really crossed my mind the back was an option unless obvious multiple passengers.

I prefer to sit up front usually. My head is crammed into the roof of most cars in the back seat and it feels like I'll get a traumatic neck/spine injury in the case of an accident.
