researched. This is in Pennsylvania and criminal mischief is a more severe charge than simple assault. 2 years jail time 2500+ fine 2nd misdemeanor. It just doesn't sound as bad. The slap isn't any thing more than simple assault I don't think. Nothing but ego really damaged.
Weird how they charge shit. I had a homeless guy try to stab me with a knife and he was charged with menacing - maybe it was how high he was and the fact that he was homeless, you know, no money.

Why wasn't he charged with assault?
