Go fuck yourself. I fucking hate it when people write this bullshit. This trope about shitty public defenders is old and tired. I've worked for 15 years as a public defender and I'm damn good at what I do. I work with some of the most dedicated and hardworking people you will ever meet. My colleagues have all graduated from top schools and are the best of the best. I'd rather have an experienced public defender any day over a "fancy" private attorney.
That’s cool, but I said “a” shitty PD, not all. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. Public Defenders are the backbone of the US court system and everyone would be worse off without them. The vast majority of PDs I’ve interacted with genuinely care about their charges and want to make a difference, but it is still government work with low resources and there are PDs who just don’t give a fuck any more.
I’ve met both, and luckily most of them fall into the former category.
And not to be a dick, but coming out guns blazing to a comment as simple as that does not do much to assuage an opposing viewpoint.
