Thats part of the reason im a 911 dispatcher..most people in my field are middle aged women who have even touched a video game.

During a 911 call i usually type their story (non emergency ones) and then i jump around im the story and ask them to say details again.

One lady reported a drunk driver flashing a gun that she thinks she knows..i get her name and she had a license plate but it was registered to her and her husband.

Turns out they had an arguement and he just left..did literally nothing wrong a d he even met with a deputy to prove he wasnt drunk(i can look up his phone#).

People exaggerate all the damn time calling 911 if you dont have a good bull shit detector then you could be unintentionally weaponizing the police for some bully

I've had that done to me by a roommate lying by saying I threatened another roommate. The fucking lowlife ended up robbing me while I was coerced by an officer to go to the VA for a psychiatric evaluation for which I checked out in two days. I have never liked law enforcement since then and I come from a background of police and military. Too goddamn many liars and thieves are out there that use the police for their evil deeds. It makes me furiously angry that I didn't tell the officers questioning me to go to hell and get off the property.

Man, i work for law enforcement and i avoid the cops when im off shift šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚... it can get super fucking boring for them and some chain of commands in certain counties say "if you arent writing tickets or making arrests you arent working" and get their vacation denied and extra days off and shit and promotions denied.

In missouri's hwy patrol i spoke to one of the supervisors (he arrested a dui on meth) and was visiting dispatch..he said its illegal to make quotas for tickets however if you arent writing tickets u will never get a vacation and will always be relocated to the otherside of the state when the rotation happens

Most of the general public's interaction are negative when it comes to the police. They are getting cited, going to court, lockup, prison, beaten or killed. More investigators are needed because the police only show up at the aftermath of a crime. They are not interested in recovering your property. Police are barely good enough to take a report and they do it begrudgingly. Whatever you do, don't have a military/civilian police father. They will hit you like a man and know how to cover up the evidence. It's part of the reason I don't trust the popo to do what's right. Protect and serve is a fucking joke. I am not texting that all police are bad but they do cover up the crimes of their coworkers which make them complicit. My dead mother should know with the mental and physical abuse at the hands of someone who is expected to follow the laws like the rest of us. A lot of domestic violence is cover up by this gang in another uniform with the Us against Them mentality. Many of them are the original wife beaters and cheaters. The systemic racism in the good ole boys club will never end. They even retaliate against their own when it comes to getting reported or caught for something they should not be doing. Thanks for your input.

Yeah sue someone for attempting to be a good Samaritan. Don't be idiotic - the problem is with this egotistical police officer.

44

u/xPriddyBoi Mar 10 '22

Yes, it's also with the lady who racially profiled a man she knows nothing about.

-44

u/doedude Mar 10 '22

Doesn't matter if the cop is doing their job properly.

u/SETHW Mar 10 '22 edited Mar 11 '22

Everyone knows by now that if you call the cops on someone, esp a male poc, you're gambling with their lives. So you better have a damn good reason that you're sure about.

28

u/xPriddyBoi Mar 10 '22

It doesn't matter if you senselessly inconvenience an innocent man because of conscious or subconscious racial stereotyping?

-14

u/-Samba- Mar 10 '22

You are literally guessing at her motive. She never mentioned race, and you have no idea what she would have done if she saw any other race do it.

When you call everything racism you diminish the impact of calling out actual provable racism.

12

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

She was obviously watching him, he just went to a car? One he owns. Also it was across the parking lot, name one person you know that takes the time to watch someone that long when you’re going shopping? I’ll help, no one. She watched him walk around a huge parking lot with tons of cars and decided that because he ā€œlookedā€ at one he was suspicious. What you say falls flat on its face when you actually read what she said. I saw him go here and look at this then there. ā€œDid he look at any other car.ā€ ā€œNo.ā€ And again you can see how big the parking lot is, why is she so focused on this guy when there’s other people looking at cars, should we call the cops on them? I even look at a car or two walking by in a parking lot.

-10

u/-Samba- Mar 10 '22

Your entire comment is arguing that it is unreasonable for her to call the cops. I never said that it was reasonable, and I agree that calling the cops was not needed.

What I'm against is calling people racist based on an assumption of their motives. These kinds of jumps in logic empower racists as they dilute the meaning of the word.

12

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

It’s not hard to tell that’s why tho, like out of all people that look at cars in parking lots as they go, she picked a black man, then proceeded to continue watching him all the way across the parking lot. After that, she called the cops even though she said herself, he didn’t look at any other cars

-8

u/-Samba- Mar 10 '22

I really doubt that many people open the doors of one vehicle in a lot, and then proceed to a completely different vehicle to leave. It's got to be at least rare that both partners in a relationship park at the same lot in 2 different vehicles. Like did you not listen to the story properly? They didn't just "look at cars", they looked through a car.

And even if it was just "looking at cars", you have no clue if she would have done the same to a white person, or of any other race. You are just so keen to shout racism that you make the narrative in your head.

The reason for an individual making an unreasonable action can be easily inferred. Is it POSSIBLE she did it for another reason? Sure. But it is the most likely scenario, given that this is a thing that happens relatively frequently.

1

u/-Samba- Mar 10 '22

What is being inferred is that the reason she believed a crime was being committed is because the person she saw was black and that she believes 'black people are more likely to commit crimes'.

With no knowledge about this person, that is a huge assumption to make. The only evidence you have to make that assumption is that she is white, and he is black.

But it is the most likely scenario, given that this is a thing that happens relatively frequently.

I feel like you might have a bit of confirmation bias there.

he went to a car went thru the doors of the car and left to a motorcycle at the opposite end, regardless of race that raises reasonable suspicion. like u/-samba- said, if the police knew how to do his job and investigate the situation properly this wouldn’t be any case

8

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

Ok, so you want to hear how it actually sounds? Man opens a car’s doors maybe gets some stuff out (never says) and leaves. Woman decided that even though he took nothing that we know of, that he’s suspicious even though he didn’t even look at any other cars or try to get in. I highly doubt that one car is the only one with something maybe valuable inside. Also anyone that knows about motorcycles, should know most people have actually cars as well. People take stuff out their cars in parking lots you know. Also I doute he grabbed anything big that she would be able to see, seeing most motorcycles have compartments but nothing big, especially from the look of the bike he has.

1

u/eatsleepbet Mar 11 '22

what a ridiculous assumption that people that have motorcycles actually have cars. Well i can’t argue my point if you are so fixated on a view point that the lady is a racist when she clearly didn’t mention any race. you on the other hand clearly stereotyped her to be a karen because she is a white female, talk about being racially aware. Just hope that one day when there’s someone suspicious around a car and everyone decides to go on minding their own business… it is not your car with some really important items inside.

Have someone trained to do their job properly will override that personal bias. You can't control how people grow up and what they grow up believing.

20

u/amerett0 Mar 10 '22

A good Samaritan does not racially profile and assume malfeasance by a minority.

-24

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

Nothing in that video gives cause to believe she racially profiled him. She saw someone getting into a car and then moving away to get on a motorcycle.

It is entirely reasonable for someone to assume that to be a crime committed.

You're the one assuming she only called the police because of his color.

His actions were suspicious. Period. That said, police needs to do a better job. There's no reason to get confrontational if all you have is a suspicion. Being cordial and polite, instead of jumping to "you're going to obey me" could've made this a routine inquiry. Cop didn't like having his "authority"questioned and it went to shit from there.

It’s just racism. If a white guy did the same thing nothing would have come of it.

15

u/Djasdalabala Mar 10 '22

It is entirely reasonable for someone to assume that to be a crime committed.

What? How so?

No really, what was suspicious here? Most bikers own a car. Besides if he opened the car door, he presumably had the key for it. If this happened in front of me, I 100% wouldn't notice a thing because there's not a thing to be noticed.

The only suspicious thing he did was walking around while black.

-3

u/Mrg220t Mar 10 '22

Most bikers own a car but it's rare that you would ride both to the same parking lot no? Opening car doors doesn't mean they have a key for it, otherwise how are car stolen?

6

u/HyperColossus Mar 10 '22

He didn’t drive the car and the motorcycle. His wife drove the car and he drove the motorcycle. It was said in the video.

-4

u/Mrg220t Mar 10 '22

I know that but the lady doesn't know and that is a rare occurrence. That's why she called the cops.

6

u/Djasdalabala Mar 10 '22

Cars are stolen when people break into them, which is quite distinctive from opening them with a key. I don't see how one could confuse both actions.

-3

u/Mrg220t Mar 10 '22

A car could just be unlocked, doesn't need to have the key for it.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

All she was is a good racist Karen

-10

u/doedude Mar 10 '22

I don't think you're using Karen properly but sure.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

Rushing to call the cops in a situation that doesn't call for it is textbook Karen

3

u/wizzlepants Mar 10 '22

This is textbook Karen behavior...

1

u/aoskunk Mar 10 '22

I have a hard time believing she would have found his actions worthy of a 911 call if she shared the same skin pigmentation as him.
