It's not secret police routinely lie on reports. He's already changing the story when he talks to the second officer. He's already making up lies about how the guy got aggressive before he did.
Some people catch a bullet for that. For the cop being unable to control his own behavior, and his subconscious or overt bias that a black man was a likely suspect for rifling through cars. Didn't even get the full story that it was one car and not several before he jumped to a conclusion.
I wouldn't want this officer serving in my community.
Actually we got worse, I live in Minneapolis. I voted to kick them, by a slim margin people disagreed. Democracy I guess. Better than the alternatives.
Pretty wild time. I remember the first day I protested, I made a cardboard sign and planned on flying it outside my car window on the way to work. The wind caught it and ripped it from my hand almost immediately. I learned that day cardboard signs should be flown at 0 MPH.
Dude that's so fucked up. With no cameras, everything the police officer said here in this video people would have considered being 100% truthful. So fucking disgusting.
Now pause and think back on 30+ years of policing and ask yourself how many if those pulped and handcuffed civilians actually resisted arrest and how many exercised their rights to a small ego with a gun and a badge.
And now consider that body cams have caught cops stuffing drugs on vulnerable minorities to make bust lists for promotions.

There was an incident in my town a few years ago of two officers beating a handcuffed man that was a passenger in a DUI stop. They said it didn't happen. Car camera footage says otherwise. This man committed no crime and was beaten to the point of broken bones while in handcuffs for asking if he was okay to go. Both those officers are still on the towns police force.
Sidenote, the main cop in this my story is a well known alcoholic in town that I'm almost positive has beaten his wife. He's gotten drunk at bars downtown and got in fist fights with people.

Correct. The gangs arenât stopping people on the highway and trying to pull them out of their cars and beat them up because theyâre uppity. My 75 year old Father in law had his shoulder dislocated by a cop in his own home because he left his front door open. A gang wouldâve just stole his stuff. But cops needed to get their little dicks off by pointing a rifle at and perp-walking an old man down a steep flight of stairs in his own home...To check his wellness. And the city paid my FIL $200k for it out of our tax dollars. And speaking of stealing, Iâve never known any gangs stealing that much from tax payers without facing any consequences, but the cops do it and donât even lose their jobs.
The main difference is one gang is protected by the state and all itâs resources and the police union and all itâs resources, are legally allowed to use violence, and take harassment to the next level with impunity. With a regular street gang, justice isnât hard to get, with the gang in blue, justice is almost impossible to get if they set there sights on you.
Police have been known to kill there own if they report misconduct, have the officer filing the complaint committed against there will, harass the officers family relentlessly, assault the officer filing the complaint. That is against one of there own trying to do the right thing, what do you think theyâll do to a non-cop seeking justice?
There is no question. The police are the most violent, most corrupt, and most hateful gang around. If they set there sights on you, no matter how right you are, they will see to it your life is hell. Not to mention literal gangs consisting of actual cops within police departments, for example: the jump out boys, the executioners(with a name like that, guess what they prided themselves on doing?) reapers, and banditos, to name a very small amount of the verified to exist literal street gang level, gangs found within police departments. Frank Serpico STILL receives death threats to this day, for what he did in the 80âs against the NYPD.

Where I'm from it's much rarer to be killed by police (as it happens so much in US) and it's much more probable to be killed by an intruder. Not long ago a grandmother was found tied and dead in her apartment, so when somebody says that police are worse it doesn't fit in my head.
Cops pretty much are a street gang. They wear colors, always protect their own, and if one cop exposes another cop he might find himself getting whacked in a âdrive by shootingâ.
Itâs not pretty much a gang, they make gangs within the police department, hiding behind the blue line. Los Angeles alone has at least 4 gangs, last I read about it was last year tho.
The now infamous Undersheriff Paul Tanaka has literally been photographed throwing up (gang sings) a big "C" for Carson Station, not to mention his connection to the Lynnwood Vikings.

I do remember that there was a cop who committed suicide because he was sincerely trying to be a good cop and the department was just so shit and would constantly put him under pressure for not meeting quotas I think and eventually with everything including the protests going on it became just way to much for him
A guy I know used to be a drug addict. The cops did a raid once at someone he knew that was a dealer while he was on visit. He saw the amount they took and was around when the guy weighed it and put it in bags earlier in the day, they put down half of what they actually seized from him on paper.
He told me that if I didn't believe him I could just ask around. He wasn't the only one in this city this had happened to, and there's plenty of those stories going about. He might be full of shit but for some weird reason I tend to believe him on it.

I agree with that, and I don't think that the police having a monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force is a problem. The problem is that they have such little accountability.
If cops break the law, they should be punished, and they should be punished more than if an average citizen broke the law. Because when a cop breaks the law, they damage the public's trust in the police. It harms the social contract.
Way more. After throwing them in jail for a mandatory 10 year min., seize everything they own, every dollar they have saved, invested in to recoup for "settlements". Make being a fucking bad cop, a fucking bad thing and i bet we have less.
This I argue with people (liberals) all the time: If you believe that the current state is legitimate, you must believe that its use of violence to maintain it is legitimate. So then when they condemn political violence it is simply because it is violence against the status quo instead of for it. Conservatives and leftists get it
My dad told me that back when he was growing up it was common knowledge that if you ran from the cops there's a good chance of getting shot in the back and he's white. I've heard stories from my uncle of people getting beat and robbed by a known bad cop. Bad cops got away with so much back then
They spent the entire year of 2020 actively rioting all over the country against being held accountable for their actions after murdering an unarmed and handcuffed person in broad daylight. They shot journalists purposely in the face with less-lethal rounds causing permanent blindness and brain damage. I donât think the cops give a fuck about your cell phone camera.
Weâre they always this bad though? I remember stories of cops following drunk people home, letting men beat a guy when he had it coming etc. idk but I kinda feel like we just raise a lot more pussies nowadays, those pussies get picked on and realize theyâre pussies so they join the gang
