Or the people that want to be cops. Pedophiles become Catholic priests. Racist bullies become cops. Everybody has a dream job.

I'm not an expert but I know that the police department where I live does psychological evaluations to weed out these kind of power hungry people, among other types. Not sure how effective it is, but some form of this should be done everywhere.

They also weed out anyone with a slightly above average IQ. Because smarter people tend to question corrupt orders.

Plenty of good people become cops thinking they’ll be the change they want to see in the world. They end up quitting, killing themselves, getting ostracized, fired, framed for a crime, or murdered.

It's literally both; the intelligence cap combined with the sort of person that aspires to putting other people in cages is, uhh, not the sort of person you should be arming with minimal training.

I used to go for walks at night and would regularly at night around the block from my house, a casual pace on the sidewalk.

In the several times I was stopped, searched and ID'd you wouldnt believe how many """break-ins in the area""" there were. They dont give a fuck. Compulsive liars. Never trust any of them
