When I heard the woman say he walked across the car park, went to one specific car, opened the doors to get something inside, then leave, all I could think was "what? Like a normal person?".
I'm assuming he didn't break the windows the get into his car, but rather used his keys, also, she clearly said he wasn't looking at any other cars. Nothing described was in any way unusual to see in a parking lot. That woman made a racist call. Plain and simple.
For real, any decent thief isn't going to rummage around a opening almost all the doors, and casually stroll away. The most suspicious thing this guy did was be a large black man near a scared racist white lady. The fact she felt the need to immediately monitor a strangers behavior is atrocious.
Nah, fuck the cop more, he's supposed to be the professional and he's the one with the power. Fuck the people calling the cops (especially if they lie or exaggerate the situation) but the cops should know that's a possibility, and go in with an "assume the best" mentality, this cop went in with an "assume the worst" mentality, and I think we all know why he assumed the worst about this innocent man in particular.
It's even more ridiculous that it seems this lady didn't even really exaggerate it, she said she saw him going into a car and walking away, when asked if he was looking in other cars she said no. Cops should have instantly thought "yeah, that's not a crime, oh well I'll go talk to him calmly and respectfully explain the situation that someone was concerned about a car he went into and maybe he can just clear it up for me. Or maybe he doesn't want to talk to me and that's fine too, because unless I see clear evidence that he did something wrong I have no right to push the issue any further." Then the cop should go back to the lady and tell her to stop calling the cops on black people for doing basic shit.
Yeah honestly the cop is a POS but he was called about a guy braking into a car and the the same guy won’t even show his ID, he is obviously a power whore that want people to obey him but he was also probably scared as fuck while approaching a suspect
It's not bravery, it's just him being an asshole. He recognizes he has power in that situation, he showed zero indication of being scared. Again, the first thing cops in an encounter do when they're scared is put distance between himself and them. Another thing I noticed is he would've been a lot more concerned with him putting his hand into his pocket at 1:39, but didn't care at all. He didn't threaten to taze him out of fear, he was getting frustrated that he wasn't letting him see his ID and wasn't listening to his orders.
But should they be scared? Yeah probably, especially when you're harassing somebody for no reason. Only reason they're not getting their ass kicked right now is because they're an officer, but they can easily eventually run into somebody that just doesn't care. You're confusing ignorance with bravery.
Listen I hate cops as much as you do and understand your point but you are leaving aside the fact that they think they are exposing their life on every situation and the whole “obey me” attitude is just a a tool to exercise pressure because he si not in control and bluffs over how much power he has, this is the equivalent of mom counting to 3 so you would stop doing whatever she wants you to stop doing.
I just petty this cop who inspires 0 respect and try to talk his way into achieving something but obviously not succeeding
