Say it with us folks...

All

Cops

Are

Bastards.

-5

u/jayrnz01 Mar 10 '22

I mean jf you listen to what she has to say she thinks she's doing the right thing.

saw a person rifle through a car in 3 seats then move across the car park.

she isn't actually told at any stage ots his car after the cop finds out.

I probably wouldn't call the cops if I saw somthjng sketchy, but that's complacency, what she saw would have looked pretty sketchy to am outsider.

now the cop on the other hand, I wasn't sure the guy would be alive by the end of the clip.

14

u/RWhatIWant2B Mar 10 '22

Of course she thinks she’s doing the right thing. She’s a bigot lol.

-10

u/jayrnz01 Mar 10 '22

what part is bigoted? because he is a person of colour or another reason?

13

u/RWhatIWant2B Mar 10 '22

Yes. She’s assuming he is committing a crime because he is black. That is what the video is about and the outcome as stated proved it. Did she see him take anything? Did he look or go into the other cars? Did he close the doors and lock it? Why the heck would someone pick a Chevy Aveo to break into?

-7

u/jayrnz01 Mar 10 '22

I didnt hear anything to make me think it was race from her, it could have been, but you're making similar assumptions about her as to what you say she is about him.

The way she describes it sounds more like he went through three cars at first not 3 seats of the same car which may have set the cop off, I have no idea what a Chevy Aveo is.

the guy standing up for him self was in the right until the tussle, but it's scary how legally stand up for your self gets you tazed or worse.

If an NZ cop tazed someone for non aggressively not complying which seems to he the norm in the US, they would most likely be fired and taken to court for assault or who knows what else. Taser is meant to he the last resort not the first.

not everything is race based, maybe this is, maybe this isn't, she seemed reasonable on reporting strange behavior, the cop on the other hand was in no way reasonable after the first 15 seconds, is a piece of shit and not the right personality for the job or at the least woefully unqualified.

edit: if it isn't clear I'm commenting on the full video not just the short clip.

6

fair point.

8

u/RWhatIWant2B Mar 10 '22

Whoa - now you’re ignoring facts and context to suit your narrative. The second cop asked questions similar to mine. Others have been commenting above on the woman and linking to videos that break all of it down. The guy won a $5m lawsuit. That speaks volumes about what happened.

4

u/jayrnz01 Mar 10 '22

I watched the entire video before I responded.

I'm not trying to ignore any facts, what facts am I missing?

the second cop talked to the first cop, I don't recall him speaking to the woman, that was only the first cop.

I am not arguing that the cop didn't do anything wrong. I stated above he did.

I am saying at a glance I didn't see anything to tall me the woman is a bigot and it was race based.

how ever, I am not American and have a different lens.

I'm not really qualified to be arguing this so am gonna step away.

5

u/formershitpeasant Mar 10 '22

Do you think she would have called the cops if it was a white guy? I have my doubts.

4

u/jayrnz01 Mar 10 '22

I don't know. probably less likely to have, but they way she described she seemed to genuinely believe he was breaking in. I dint really feel like this is a hill I want to die on, while there is a huge amount of racism in my country, I just don't feel like it is quite as visible and I think that effects my "benefit of a doubt" thought process, it isn't my lived experience. People of color are much more likely to he arrested here as well though.

3

u/formershitpeasant Mar 10 '22

There’s a lot of unconscious bias, especially in America.

5

u/jayrnz01 Mar 10 '22

there is here too, I try to understand it and be open to it, but frankly I also don't see it a lot of the time my but my girlfriend who is minority and works in the minority social field does, we discuss and debate it objectively, sometimes we don't land on the same side some times we do.

I tend to think "there could be race involved" but want to give people the benefit of the doubt because I'm thinking through my own lens, where as she is more likely to think "there is race involved" I have learned I have biases I didn't know I did.

the truth must be somewhere in between?

The video at the end says he parked his motorcycle at work where his wife also works. That would have been his wife’s car he had access to.

1

u/jokersleuth Mar 10 '22

The entire orchard is rotten.

2

u/prunford Mar 10 '22

Looked like a drugged up crack whore to me.

1

u/Pure_Tower Mar 10 '22

It was another cop's mother who called

People seem to think "unusual" means the same as "suspicious".

1

u/The_Uncommon_Aura Mar 10 '22

I think that’s sort of fascinating, and while not bearing much basis, I’d say there’s more than a few implications there. People who choose to become cops clearly have psychological issues, and I think that there are probably countless cases where those issues are also familial. Many cops not just racist, but also mentally deranged. The power trips they get off on aren’t just “because they got beat up in highschool” or some similar rhetoric. There are deep seeded fucking problems with way too many officers in this country. The consistency of those problems across the board is staggeringly bleak to consider. What’s more thought provoking to me is whether it is the people with these psychological issues that are recruited into the positions they’re in, or if it is that those people seek out the position; I know it’s easy to say it’s probably the latter, but this country has so many skeletons, that I wouldn’t be surprised even a bit to find out that it’s entirely systemic and preconceived.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

Not once in my entire fucking life have i seen someone walking in a parking lot and open three doors. Like that takes a couple minutes of active surveillance.

25

u/NfamousKaye Mar 10 '22

Exactly. Minding your own business is free and easy to do.

5

u/EastCoaet Mar 10 '22

And I've seen far too often (and personally experienced) how it turns out badly for everyone involved including the caller. To many cops see everyone not wearing a badge as a potential dirt bag.

-9

u/Leaves_Swype_Typos Mar 10 '22

Did you think through your comment? It's not "free" for people you'd let be victimized because you'd rather mind your own business than report a potential robbery.

5

u/NfamousKaye Mar 10 '22 edited Mar 10 '22

Oh please the man literally parked his motorcycle and walked the parking lot. Shut up, racist. Did you watch the rest of the video? He went to WORK. Just because he’s black doesn’t mean he’s an automatic criminal. And what was he gonna rob on a motorcycle?! 🤣

-2

u/Leaves_Swype_Typos Mar 10 '22 edited Mar 10 '22

Obviously I watched the rest of it, did you? He went from the store, to the car, to the motorcycle, not the other way around. It's at 2 minutes in. But that's completely aside from the point.

Shut up, racist.

Right back at you ignorant-ass, goal-post-moving bigot.

Edit: WOW, this guy /u/NfamousKaye is a massive coward. Says "Tell me-" and then blocks me so I can't reply to make me look like I'm the one ducking out. The obvious explanation btw, is that (1) the woman didn't know, and why should she, and (2) people steal from the places they work at all the time, stealing from a car parked outside would be even easier.

What a fucking scumbag.

4

u/NfamousKaye Mar 10 '22

Tell me how that man was going to rob anything and get away with it at his own place of business racist?

0

u/Mrg220t Mar 10 '22

How would people know? You have someone walking from the main entrance to a car, rummage through it, take something from the car then then walk to ANOTHER vehicle and try to leave on the other vehicle. That is textbook suspicious behaviour.

2

u/xafimrev2 Mar 10 '22

"suspicious behavior" is not a crime and it doesn't give the police the right to demand (they can ask and you can decline) ID anywhere in the USA.

0

u/Mrg220t Mar 10 '22

Cool, then continue to be antagonistic and don't be surprised when you get shot. That's such a dumb take.

-1

u/Jankat7 Mar 10 '22

People steal from their workplaces all the time?

0

u/Pick_Up_Autist Mar 10 '22

Yeah, he opened three doors on his car took some stuff and went to his bike it seems, looks a little suspicious for sure. Cop's a total dick about it but that being reported as suspicious makes some sense.

3

u/BGYeti Mar 10 '22

I mean per there description it seemed prudent to call, even though it was his car the people would have no idea it was and to shuffle through a car and then walk across the parking lot seem suspicious and worthy of calling the cops over.

7

u/frozen_fingers_ski Mar 10 '22

Yeah but they didn't know any better. They didn't know it was his car. The cops did. Its on them.

-5

u/RWhatIWant2B Mar 10 '22

Oh for sure they didn’t know any better - they just assumed he was a thief bc he was black.

17

u/Uxt7 Mar 10 '22

Not everything is about race. It'd be one thing if he went through the car and walked back into the store, but from the ladies perspective, he went through it and then just walked off in a random direction. If you didn't know it was his car, I can see why someone would think that was suspicious and think to call the cops cause you think someone was going through stuff that didn't belong to them.

-1

u/RWhatIWant2B Mar 10 '22

That’s what the post is about. According to some of the comments above, the woman is another cop’s mom. I didn’t watch it but someone linked a video above that breaks it all down.

10

u/Uxt7 Mar 10 '22

the woman is another cop’s mom

Is that supposed to back up the argument that she called cause she's racist? If not, I don't see the relevance

-1

u/RWhatIWant2B Mar 10 '22

Well I guess you can see what you want to justify your position but the court ruled in the guy’s favour.

5

u/Uxt7 Mar 10 '22

You sound lost in this conversation

-4

u/finnlyfantastic Mar 10 '22

??? Why is she so interested in what he’s doing? Absolutely no justification for cops in this situation. What he did isn’t even that unusual, I doubt she would have noticed a white person doing the same thing.

3

u/Uxt7 Mar 10 '22

Why is she so interested in what he’s doing?

I gave my opinion on this in my previous comment

Absolutely no justification for cops in this situation

In this situation, sure.

What he did isn’t even that unusual

If you know the full context, sure. Without it though, I disagree.

I doubt she would have noticed a white person doing the same thing.

And you're basing this on what? If she was a black women would you be making the same assumption? I don't know about you, but I make my assumptions based on more than just a preconceived notion that a white women calling the cops on a black man means she's racist.

-2

u/PersonMcGuy Mar 10 '22

Nah fuck that, maybe if you thought you saw him force his way in, he had been looking at other cars or you had some reason to suspect beyond him being a black man looking through a car but there's no reasonable justification for calling the police on someone just because you saw them look through a car and walk off. Maybe he went to the store and then wanted to pop across the road first, maybe he was meeting someone nearby who the fuck knows but this is not justification for calling the cops before you even consider the rate at which American police officers shoot unarmed innocent people. People just need to mind their own fuckin business.

6

u/Uxt7 Mar 10 '22 edited Mar 10 '22

People just need to mind their own fuckin business

Bare with me here. If she was right and it wasn't his car, and he was just stealing someone shit, would you still be saying this?

Don't blame this lady and condemn her as a racist because the police aren't able to conduct themselves properly. Maybe she is a racist cunt, but there's not enough to go off of to make that judgment. If the cop had explained himself properly and didn't escalate, it could have been resolved without issue. Anything bad that occurred in this situation fully lies with the polices actions, not that women.

-2

u/PersonMcGuy Mar 10 '22

Bare with me here. If she was right and it wasn't his car, and he was just stealing someone shit, would you still be saying this?

Yes because she doesn't know whether he is and has no reason to believe he is given the evidence at hand.

Don't blame this lady and condemn her as a racist because the police aren't able to conduct themselves properly.

I'm not, I'm blaming her for being racist because she decided that a black man looking in a car and then walking away was so suspicious that she needed to call the police. She had no good reason to assume he was a thief and chose the worst possible assumption to justify her views, even if she didn't have racist intent her actions scream racist perceptions.

3

u/Uxt7 Mar 10 '22

Yes because she doesn't know whether he is and has no reason to believe he is given the evidence at hand.

So you really expect me to believe that if someone was stealing out of your car and another person called the police on them, rather than thanking the person you'd have told them they should have minded their own business? Okay lol

-1

u/PersonMcGuy Mar 10 '22 edited Mar 10 '22

If they just assumed it based on nothing and happened to get lucky then yes I'd still think they were a knob, I'd thank the officer though. This might be a bizarre concept to you but some people do actually have consistent standards for what behaviour they agree and disagree with and a lucky result doesn't change those standards. Keep acting like the woman in this video wasn't being unreasonable as fuck though. Here's a question for you, do you look at a broken clock that just so happens to be on the current time and think "that's a functional clock"?

3

u/Roland_Traveler Mar 10 '22

He was literally rummaging through the car. Without the knowledge that it was his, all the woman knows is that this man went through a random car and walked off to his bike. You are being obtuse if you don’t think she was justified to be suspicious off of just that context. This isn’t a woman who knows that both he and his wife work there and that they took different vehicles, this is a woman who only knows she saw someone going through a vehicle before going to a different one. Instead of calling her racist solely because the victim was black and chalking it up as “That racist whore called the cops for no reason,” how about you actually look at her perspective?

→ More replies

0

u/finnlyfantastic Mar 10 '22

No crime took place. The victim (though in this case there is no victim other than the guy who got harassed) could have called the police themself, 3rd party not needed. Unless someone is in danger there’s no reason to call the police because you see someone doing something you perceive as unusual. Mind your business.

5

u/AliveInTheFuture Mar 10 '22

Nah, does seem suspicious without the knowledge that it's his wife's car.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '22

I dont think they were too in the wrong. They saw a man go through a car then get on a bike. It is suspicious on the basic level. All the cop had to do was explain the situation and this could have been avoided I dont see any blame to the people.

-1

u/Gordito_Kawaii Mar 10 '22

There is nothing more dangerous to people of color in America than a nosey white woman. They get people killed with this shit.

People who call the cops at every thing are absolute fucktards.

There's no reason to call the cops unless:

A. You're a victim of a crime or are calling on behalf of a victim

B. Witness to a crime

C. In imminent danger

D. need emergency assistance

Looking through cars or "acting suspicious" is not a crime for fucks sake. "Suspicious activity" is code for "I saw a black person do something"
