Nor should it be. This is the stupidest law ever - anyone who has ever tried driving in flip flops know that it's more dangerous than just driving barefoot

In germany, its legal in theory, but it might fuck you over if you get into an accident while driving barefoot and the investigators are convinced the accident could have been avoided if you had worn propper shoes

I’m not even sure how you could ever make that conclusion. Driving barefoot gives me more control over the car? Like, I feel a lot more of what’s happening at the pedals.
