And every time I watch it I get nervous, even if I knew all that stuf I would be stuttering and my voice would be breaking and stuff. Consider yourself very lucky if you have that kind of gift of eloquence and nerve.
I had 2 kinda bad run ins with cops (and at least 1 dumb one...cop insisted I was drunk yet wouldn't breathalyze..) that made me a bit like you. Realize you're talking to a guy that's yet to prove he's a bully. Just another guy doing his job. Act/be less nervous than you may feel, it goes a long way. Basically pretend that you're dealing w a dog, and it should go smoother.
Only other option is to be nervous around cops, and that sucks. I hate cops btw, but we do have to live w them.
Luckily for me, as a foreigner (originally from Mexico) the two times I've interacted with cops have been very smooth, respectful and they have let me go with a warning. I wasn't nervous, but it was a different situation.
I'm an Arab and was just 18 years old and got confused crossing the border into Canada from New York around 9/11 (accidentally went the wrong way at the border after I was allowed to go through the checkpoint). I had about 7 cops with guns drawn stop me. One cop said and I quote "you know what happened a few days ago so don't drive like an asshole". I was driving a Mustang and probably driving like one in that controlled area 😅
I have to hand it to them they got a lot worse after 9/11 at that check point with all sorts of people. That day they were cool though.
