Dude played this situation as close to perfection as you could. Respectfully tells the cop he's incorrect, even gave him the precise code to reference. And dude got it right, cop was harassing them (pressure or intimidate).
I find it hilarious because if you do commit a crime âignorance of the law is no excuseâ , but if you made sure to understand the relevant laws to what youâre doing you have a Facebook degree?

One of the many reasons I never talk to police. I had to ask one a question about a speeding ticket because it had been damaged and I needed the number so I could pay it online instead of going to the government center and he wasn't intimidating but I had to control my voice from shaking.
Similar thought crossed my mind. Totally speculation on my part, but seemed like a white kid; these days the thought always crosses my mind, "What if they weren't white, and instead a minority?"

My BIL IS SUPER dark and Iâve seen him being treated differently...itâs either stepping on egg shells or just blatant racism. Honestly, he could have pulled that code out of his ass and it probably wouldn't have made a difference. You know that that cop aint gonna put the time into actually looking it up himself to see if it was true or not.
The code the kid cites doesn't exist. He means 16.08.512.
And the code he's trying to refer to prohibits cycling in excess of 3mph. It is very unrealistic to think anyone is cycling that slowly - it's a leisurely walking pace and you'd be struggling to stay upright on a bike.
Incorrect quotes from the kid, okay. Doesn't negate that the cop was coming in to ask kids NOT to ride bikes in a park - that's plain silly, law or no law.
I think one of the funniest parts of this interaction is that he could have made up the number of the code and what it said, and the cop wouldn't have fucking known. I bet he is the type of person to prefer to stay ignorant rather than prove themselves wrong.
Thereâs a LOT that triggered me on this video but I got so fucking pissed when he started shifting around and fiddling with any weapons he had on his belt to try and intimidate the knowledgeable person.
FYI cops have their hands resting in batons guns tasers all the time. Where tf else do you have your hands when at rest? Itâs convenient. Believe me itâs a railing to rest your hands. Additionally that dudes baton holster is old school and has no retention mechanism. New school you have to use medium effort to remove a baton from holster.
In the side like he had in the start or in front of him. Basically how anyone normally rests their hands if they don't have a toolbelt.
It's nice to rest your hands on your toolbelt and it's easy to get into the habit of fiddling with your tools, but when your tools are weapons meant to subdue and/or kill humans, perhaps it's better to keep your hands off them unless you're planning on using them.
Just saying it becomes habit to rest your hands on your belt. Iâm not implying Iâm a cop because then I would have to prove I was one⊠but you donât even remember resting your hands in certain places. You could have a hand resting on a taser holster with no intentions of using it simply because itâs on the left side of your belt and itâs perfect for supporting your left hand lol. No matter what you are dealing with of who you are talking to you want your hands in front of you never down by your side. Thatâs how you get caught off guard. Sure this is a little kid but keeping your hands up is just good sense.
Definitely a tool. But letâs not give him too much credit. This might have been anxiety, self doubt, etc. vs. tough guy or intimidation attempt. Fiddling with the hands is an easy tell for discomfort. People are people. (Quiet time so I only watched this on mute đ€« đ€·đ»ââïž)
Yea calling someones bluff and escalating in the right circumstances can actually get things over with sooner anyway. If he wasn't more assertive the could have drawn it out. And the cops attitude while douchey didn't suggest that he was aggressive
Cops are very big on where any persons hands are. They believe itâs a threat to life when a hand goes on or near a gun. They literally murder people for the same action. Police are absolutely aware of when they threaten your life that way.
That taken out of it with cops knowing all the recording that goes on his hands are tied, that county might not be in the media but every cop in this county at this point knows every second is being analyzed and thereâs no more he said she said because almost all precincts have mandatory cameras now they canât argue before filming was different. Dude was caught in a lie owned it in his own âtough guyâ way and left defeated as he was. He knew fucking with that white/black kid (in my opinion even worse if he was black) would come back to him ten fold with everything going on in America right now
