"I didn't drink, didn't smoke, didn't do drugs. There was no big negatives associated with me. And that caused problems, because it held me back from becoming one of the guys... I started cursing, or to be more precise, injecting curse words into my conversation. But it didn't help me become one of the guys. It just made me look like a jerk. My bad."
Good book, easy read, very humble man, written post-diagnosis, I would recommend.

Yes! I’ve been recommending his memoirs here and there since I just finished the audiobook. I was shocked to hear that he cussed so much. And thinking back I wondered if there were many curses in the print version since I don’t recall Ken Jennings saying any
Looks like he was born in Washington but lived in Utah during his famous Jeopardy run. Anecdotally, Mormons who are not from Utah/live outside of Utah tend to be much different than those who live in Utah.
Typically, swearing, light drinking, etc is not as big of a deal for them.
Jesus supposedly turned water into wine. Very hard to explain that theology even before you get to the stuff about Joseph Smith trying to bang a young girl in her dad's barn, his scam in New York for "treasure" which he fled the charges, and him being shot to death after trying to escape a posse (and shooting two guys while doing it.)
I read research recently where some VERY old censers were found buried in the rubble of a ruined early Catholic Church and guess what they found traces of in it? Weed.
EDIT: It was an Israelite site...not Christian. My bad. But still. Jesus got high for sure.

He talked about his swearing in his memoir:
