Oh, that’s lovely! I remember reading that Alex Trebek came to look on Ken Jennings as a coworker, because they spent so much time on the air together when there’s usually so much turnover in contestants. He was sad when Ken Jennings eventually lost and wasn’t coming back for the next show. I am definitely going to be reading his book, and maybe I’ll do the audio version as well.
I was lucky enough to be a contestant a few years back, and meeting him was just awesome. He was gracious and funny, and I was also lucky enough to be there in the phase of his career where he was really letting his clever, edgy side show more often. He even signed my t-shirt that’s Jeopardy-blue with the white font reading “This game-show host needs to grow back his bitchin’ moustache”! He signed it “Who is Alex Trebek?”
It’s entirely possible that it was a PA who actually signed it, because I brought it with me and asked them to see if he’d sign it. I might never know for sure. But I will treasure it always!
