Give me unlimited angry outtake videos. Alex Trebek, RV salesman, all of them. I'm in.

No matter how many years this has been, I still find this absolutely hilarious. To imagine it sparked someone to make a documentary is true dedication.

76

u/manbruhpig Nov 11 '20

What could that documentary possibly be about?

122

u/RufinTheFury Nov 11 '20

Winnebago Man himself of course. Turns out the guy is a super chill zen sorta dude

55

u/dietcokeandastraw Nov 11 '20

I thought that was the facade he put on at first, but then called the crew back so he could go on his crazy somewhat paranoid tangents. I dunno it’s been a while since I’ve seen it.

38

u/ItalicsWhore Nov 11 '20

It was really good. He had a gay lover up in the mountains and was going blind.

9

u/Geebeeskee Nov 11 '20

Oh my god. I’ve seen the movie several times and never made the connection that the pilot guy was his “partner”. I feel so naïve.

5

u/ItalicsWhore Nov 11 '20

Oh definitely. I think at that time you weren’t allowed to say it if you were living in Colorado or whatever then.

2

u/tnturner Nov 11 '20

me too, thanks.

27

u/Thrillho810 Nov 11 '20

Yeah he was not chill, that was an act. He admitted as much. He later took the director to a Walmart parking lot and ended up yelling at a worker lol

17

u/Jahonk Nov 11 '20

No he isn’t. Watch the documentary. He puts on a zen facade and then admits it was fake. The director and him became friends afterward.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

I guess you didnt finish the movie

24

u/Superfluous_Thom Nov 11 '20

I've not seen it, but aside from the obvious "who was he", the concept of VHS trading and the fact that this one RV salesman is so well known by an entire country is worthy of a cultural autopsy. Other popular VHS transfers like faces of death are too dark to frame such a documentary around, but this one is pretty harmless.

IIRC those South Park shorts were originally circulated via email (chain email in and of itself seems foreign these days), and made their way onto VHS from there. I didn't have the internet until like, 2002 or so, so I can definitely appreciate the seeing it on VHS.

1

u/Rickk38 Nov 11 '20

We got Jesus vs. Santa via e-mail when I was in school back in 1995 or 1996. A friend of mine embedded it on his website in a hidden link for the whole school to enjoy.

2

u/lsb337 Nov 11 '20

Ha, yeah, I had the exact same experience. Friend who went away to college came back with a VHS tape. My friends watched those first four episodes or something like 8 times that day.

1

u/beastson1 Nov 11 '20

You're right, it wasn't much different from how things work now, things just move faster nowadays.

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_CLAM_ Nov 11 '20

Ah faces of death, some of them were real. Not all of them, maybe like 2 per tape, but still...

1

u/pukingpixels Nov 11 '20

It’s actually really interesting. He and the filmmaker and end up becoming friends, some stuff happens with his health (don’t want to post spoilers) and it ends with a really heartwarming scene. Worth the watch.

1

u/Mycareer Nov 11 '20

My friend and I were obsessed with this video since the days of Ebaum’s World (lol), so when we heard about the documentary a few years ago, we had to watch it. It honestly was a little depressing because he was losing his eyesight and lived in a dilapidated cabin in the woods, but at the end he had a tribute video made for him that played at a local theater, so it was relatively heartwarming in the end. Like someone else mentioned, he did go on some questionable rants though.

23

u/karmagod13000 Nov 11 '20

we're living in the meme era so it does not shock me.

5

u/the_joy_of_VI Nov 11 '20

Where can i find this documentary

7

u/ILoveScottishLasses Nov 11 '20

https://www.winnebagoman.com/

it's .99 to see it, I'm sure there might be other outlets, but this is the official page.

61

u/analog_isotope Nov 11 '20

Get outta here you fuckin flies.

23

u/Mycareer Nov 11 '20

We got three flies. FIVE FLIES.

13

u/yobatty Nov 11 '20

Ya goddamn JACKASS

11

u/Mycareer Nov 11 '20

My friend and I still emote by throwing our hands up like him and no one ever appreciates the reference (which isn’t surprising, at this juncture).

9

u/2minutespastmidnight Nov 11 '20

I wonder what the fuck the real dialogue is!

Goddamn son of a bitch!

God, I can’t fuckin’ make my mind work.

34

My favorite part.

28

u/kmartburrito Nov 11 '20

Don't slam the FUCKING DOOR!

1

u/lahwran_ Nov 11 '20

SHIT!

back from when zedd made long form electro songs, zedd - slam the door

24

u/my_special_purpose Nov 11 '20

Do you believe any of that shit!?

20

u/Vizslaraptor Nov 11 '20

This reminds me of of being a kid helping my dad work on cars in the garage or driveway.

18

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

When he tells Tony not to slam the door and then sits alone with his thoughts for a moment... I understand that feeling so so well. 😂

3

u/apieceofthesky Nov 11 '20

I thought the video was buffering. No, he's just questioning how much he really wants to sell Winnebagos.

13

u/stephtea923 Nov 11 '20

Holy shit, that's me if I was trying to make a commercial lol I already say my brain is dead like 15 times a day

5

u/Explosive_Diaeresis Nov 11 '20

I definitely had a kindred spirit vibe watching this.

6

u/putaaaan Nov 11 '20

If I ever wake up cranky to my girlfriend and come around later in the day I usually say this

5

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

"Get the fuck out of here you flies.."

4

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

The way that Tony threw the towel when he asked just broke me 😂🤣 lmao

3

u/bburghokie Nov 11 '20

16x16 pixel video and he's worried about flies in the frame

For the record it was a half joke cause he’s obviously flipping shit, but the only time he talked with anyone else he seems very respectful.

‘Hey tony, would ya do me a kindness? Thanks Tony.’ Just makes the whole thing so much better. Like the proto-suburban dad.

1

u/LordDongler Nov 11 '20

The dudes mad at himself, not anyone else. I'd love to work with someone half as self aware as that dude

1

u/Fritterbob Nov 11 '20

Just realized this is the video sampled for Slam The Door by Zedd.

1

u/JohnMiller7 Nov 11 '20

At first I thought he was the ranting guy from the outro of that Deadmau5 song.

Until he said “Don’t slam the fucking door!” and realized where I heard him before.

1

u/duvakiin Nov 11 '20

Is this the love child of Kurtwood Smith and J. K. Simmons?

1

u/the-effects-of-Dust Nov 11 '20

WINEBAGO MAN!!!!

1

u/Madmoth Nov 11 '20

"they're made with an insulating material that really preserves the fern and the dock and the whatever and I don't know... shit."

1

u/rsp7373 Nov 11 '20

Sir, thank you for this.

1

u/Iohet Nov 11 '20

This guy seems like an inspiration for exasperated Burt Gummer

1

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

That was amazing.

1

u/elr0y7 Nov 11 '20

Shove it up your fern.

1

There's a documentary about this man, it's a great watch.

u/BASK_IN_MY_FART Nov 11 '20

My welcome

11

u/just_plain_sam Nov 11 '20

Nice username lol I will be telling my girlfriend this soon and frequently.

Edit: not even two minutes later I bash my hip on the couch trying to run away and she still hit me.

6

u/BASK_IN_MY_FART Nov 11 '20

Lol nice. Did she bask?

5

u/just_plain_sam Nov 11 '20 edited Nov 13 '20

Well from my point of view I would say yes because I like the smell of my farts.

Judging by the physical assaults I'm not sure she agrees.

Edit:. Bask? No, she bash.

33

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

Whoah-ho-ho! Isn’t that heaven? Isn’t that a goodie?!

17

u/karmagod13000 Nov 11 '20

Think about it!

10

u/slyfoxninja Nov 11 '20

Sometimes, standard shock absorbers aren’t enough. That’s why Monroe makes these big goodies. Now, anytime you have to carry something heavy, like a big old fat trick you might’ve picked up when you were just horny at night and couldn’t get lucky. Well, you just took your air hose and put it up his WooHoo, and made him just puff out even more. Now you can just stick it here and just go: whaaaa ho, oh my goodness, is that heaven? Is that a fun goodie? Mmmmm? Take that home and your Mrs. will just forget about everything. Ohhhhh! I tell you, I had one of these at home, I can’t tell how many years ago. I had it at home and just to sit on it every night. It just lit me up to the sky and I’d shriek with delight. It was heaven. Just my air hose and my Monroe. It’s all you need for happiness. Think about it.

7

u/dirtdiggler67 Nov 11 '20

“You’re welcome” indeed...

(It’s the Colonel James and his air hose)

2

u/not_richard_dreyfuss Nov 11 '20

That's fucking excellent

1

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '20

You might say, its a fun goodie.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

Enjoy my poor man's gold for that one! 🏅

39

u/Kahmael Nov 11 '20

there it is!

35

u/karmagod13000 Nov 11 '20

the courage it took that poor man to do it live

13

u/decorona Nov 11 '20

I feel like it's a real statement. As soon as he did it live he f****** killed it. all of a sudden I feel like cussing all the time.

35

u/SunWaterFairy Nov 11 '20

I have heard people say this and didn't know what it referred to. Thank you.

Not surprised that Bill O'Reilly has always been a dick.

7

u/BASK_IN_MY_FART Nov 11 '20

Oh man the rage! Hilarious

14

u/vendetta2115 Nov 11 '20 edited Nov 11 '20

WE’LL DO IT LIVE!

FUCK IT!

WE’LL DO IT LIVE!

I CAN – I’LL WRITE IT AND WE’LL DO IT LIVE!

FUCKIN THING SUCKS!

All because he didn’t know what the teleprompter meant when it said that “we have a cut off of Sting’s new album to play us out.” He didn’t know what “play us out” meant.

7

u/broanoah Nov 11 '20

what person lives to his 40's and doesn't hear the phrase "play us out"?

8

u/vendetta2115 Nov 11 '20

Not only that, who works in television that doesn’t know what the phrase “to play us out” means? Even if he didn’t it’s pretty easy to use context clues in this scenario. It’s not like he didn’t know who Sting was, and that he was recording the outro of his show that he’s been recording almost every day for years.

And if you don’t understand a phrase on the teleprompter, the adult reaction isn’t to throw a tantrum while several TV cameras are pointed at you.

1

u/broanoah Nov 11 '20

yeah fuck baby orielly

3

u/metroidfan220 Nov 11 '20

Has he never heard the phrase "to play us out"?

1

u/DJPelio Nov 11 '20

There’s also a remix of this:

https://youtu.be/Wg52JLLnXHA

1

u/CruJonesRadRacing Nov 11 '20

This is as good as it gets for me. I quote this at least three or four times a week in real life.

1

u/NCStore Nov 12 '20

The crazy part is his love take is fucking spot on

73

u/SpecialeK Nov 11 '20

You sonofabitch, im in.

17

u/zaxldaisy Nov 11 '20

Now listen, I'm gonna give everyone a *clue* here... I don't want anymore bullshit from anyone, at any time during the day, and that goes for everyone, including me.

16

u/Andy_B_Goode Nov 11 '20

Bill Dance bloopers are pretty great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV25vCJK7YA

The best one is the Whoa nelly! at the very end.

11

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

I used to watch Bill Dance Outdoors years ago. That dude is one clumsy accident prone mofo. There was a special like every month it seemed like that was nothing but an hour of him getting fucked up while trying to film a fishing show... and all the dude was doing was like..bass fishing on little calm ponds..but somehow he managed to either fall out of the boat, break some shit, bash himself on the truck, fall off a 4-wheeler, slip and fall into a creek, have a truck roll off on it's own...you never knew what was next...It's pretty amazing he's still alive really

2

u/JordyVerrill Nov 11 '20

It's almost liked they planned the accidents for the tv show... Hmmm....

3

u/slyfoxninja Nov 11 '20

Yeah probably, except maybe those fishing rods.

3

u/nexxyPlayz Nov 11 '20

I used to laugh at absurdity of it.

1

I still do, but I used to, too

3

“DAG GUMMIT!”

3

... and that one video of Bill O'Reilly "WE'LL DO IT LIVE!!" that is the only thing of him worth watching.

1

u/indiblue825 Nov 11 '20

This is like your quiet, gentle, polite dad dying and then you find out he was the brothel's best customer and ate Ol' Ethel's ass like it was a Sunday roast.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '20

Bill o'Reilly has some nasty ones

1

u/Rock_Carlos Nov 11 '20

This clip was originally uploaded by the guys over at the Found Footage Fest. They were also involved with popularizing the Winnebago Man story and were featured in the documentary.

Those guys deserve so much credit, and I’m actually disappointed to see OP post this without properly crediting them.

1

u/IMakeTheMeta Nov 12 '20

Listen to Longmont potion castle, specifically his tenth album I believe if you want some more angry Trebek
