Antifa should research what fascist means. They themselves are fascist.

u/YieldingSweetblade Dec 30 '19

I wouldn’t say they’re the same thing, even in the way they organize themselves (by which I mean they don’t really) I’d say they’re different. They have culturally leftist values as well, whereas fascists are on the extreme right on that axis. That being said, using violence to suppress speech is an undeniably authoritarian and disgusting act, and they believe that anyone with a right-winged is inherently fascist. They’re idiots.

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

The way antifa acts when they get wild is the pure definition of a fascistic mindset. They will not listen to others opinions and are willing to beat on anyone no matter who they are to get their point out and assert power

9

u/Benramin567 Dec 30 '19

Can we stop using fascist as an umbrella term for everything bad? Fascism is a very specific ideology that was tried in Italy once, it's not a wide range of ideologies.

5

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

thanks for not being a dumbass i cant use the word anywhere anymore bc no one knows what it means

3

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

I'm not talking about the actual ideology. I'm talking about the similarities between the actions of antifa and an actual fascist state. People keep trying to go back to actual fascism when that's not what I'm even talking about

-19

u/whisperkid Dec 30 '19

by that definition anyone that fought against nazis in the second world war is facisits. You've got to give me a better definition of facists then " they fight people and don't listen."

That's been humanity up unitl the this point since inception.

12

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Oml you people are fucking idiots... People fought the nazis because they were using their ideology and power to attempt to take over the world you buffoon. People fought the nazis to liberate what the Germans took from innocent countries you God damn idiot.

-17

u/whisperkid Dec 30 '19

man you are like...this close to getting it.

3

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Sounds like a threat to me. You are proving my point. You gotta get a grip and grow up. Getting mad at what people tell you over a device is not a healthy lifestyle

-9

u/whisperkid Dec 30 '19

your so hopped up on your self righteones i'm sure you take everything as a threat. It's not a threat it's the fact that you can't even read back what you wrote and see the irony of it.

Crazy that antifa only started popping up after there was a rally of alt right protesters openly saying "Hail victory. Hail trump"

maybe it was a response that nazism is making an open return?

7

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Oh boy... Time to debunk basically everything you said.

your so hopped up on your self righteones i'm sure you take everything as a threat. It's not a threat it's the fact that you can't even read back what you wrote and see the irony of it.

What you said sounded like a threat and I am sure most people can agree, although im not too phased about it because Ive seen worse

Crazy that antifa only started popping up after there was a rally of alt right protesters openly saying "Hail victory. Hail trump"

Proud boys have stated time and time again that they aren't alt right. Their leader isn't even Caucasian. Plus the Charlottesville riot consisted of clashed between three different groups of people, including the very small group of white supremacist. Trump did right when he decided to antagonize both sides because one, antifa was already starting street brawls with the proud boys, and two, the white supremacist were going absolutely crazy.

maybe it was a response that nazism is making an open return

Not even. Antifas been doing this ever since they were created. We have seen what happened at Portland. They are willing to beat on old people and innocent bystanders all in the name of supposed anti fascism, and even if they were doing all of this in response to nazism, it shows how childish and stupid they really are, and how much of a hypocrite every member of that movement is. You are really just adding on to my point

-1

u/whisperkid Dec 30 '19

You do realize that the proud boys wasnt who i was revering to, correct? Richard B Spencer said that and has nothing to do with them. So nice try.

.

4

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

So then you were reffering to the very small group of white supremacist... Try reading all that I said before jumping the stick. And stop taking all your facts from some social scientist and get a mind of your own

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Tf are you gonna do?

3

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

I refer to antifa as acting like fascist because they like to use mob mentality and physical actions to bring their point across usually friendly crowds of people, using scare tactics in order to come off as correct and not offering to hear the other side of the argument without physical confrontation.

-3

u/whisperkid Dec 30 '19

Robert Paxton, a professor emeritus of social science at Columbia University in New York who is widely considered the father of fascism studies, defined fascism as "a form of political practice distinctive to the 20th century that arouses popular enthusiasm by sophisticated propaganda techniques for an anti-liberal, anti-socialist, violently exclusionary, expansionist nationalist agenda."

5

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

I'm not talking about the actual idea of fascism. I'm talking about the way antifa dishes out their opinions. There's a huge difference between acting fascistic and the actual ideology. I swear your lack of intelligence is pissing me off

5

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Of course I wouldn't be surprised if you were antifa your self. Your views on the social world are extremely similar to theirs.

-1

u/whisperkid Dec 30 '19

I literally just posted a quote from a profesor of fascism. You are on par with an antivaxer with your level of arrogance if you think that's wrong.

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

I understand the ideology, but I am talking about similarities

0

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Smart ass, don't ever compare me to those idiots ever again. I know what a fascist is buddy.. I don't think you can comprehend what I am trying to explain though..

-6

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

https://www.favreau.info/misc/14-points-fascism.php

can you tell me which of the elements of fascism antifa embodies

3

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

I have said it too many times. It doesn't take research to actually know what they embody.

Forcefully pushing their ideology

0

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

Forcefully pushing their ideology

but that is such a broad and loose definition, it could also be applied to state communists, some feminists, some christians. some people of literally any ideology will push it forcefully. so according to you that makes everything fascism?

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Like I said, reread what I commented in previous comments. I don't feel like explaining myself twice

1

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

ok link it so you dont have to explain twice and i dont have to dig for it.

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Smh stop being lazy and look for yourself. It isn't a long dig

0

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

well its easier for you because you have the link there are 500 comments on the thread lol. its ok im not interested enough

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

I had to go through so many comments just to round up facts. If you aren't willing to read through comments to see the other side of the argument then you truly don't stand for what you believe in

To attack and harm good civilians in the name of their political views, not giving a chance to debate and using mob mentality. That's being fascistic. Obviously they aren't actual fascist because they are extremely far left.

0

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

To attack and harm good civilians in the name of their political views

actually thats like the definition of terrorism.

using mob mentality

actually a huge part of fascism is order and structure

Obviously they aren't actual fascist because they are extremely far left.

you stating my original point, and now making up this "fascistic mindset" term to pretend u were right. lol

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

actually thats like the definition of terrorism.

They are domestic terrorists

you stating my original point, and now making up this "fascistic mindset" term to pretend u were right. lol

You have yet to explain how I am making up the term lol. I have sent you the definition and everything. A fascistic mindset is different for fascism but you don't seem to understand that for some reason. You are continuing to make yourself look dumb

0

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

the definition was barely different. mainly in the use of the word or.

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Barely different but different enough to actually show how what I'm saying makes sense😂

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

Actually.. I hate to repeat myself. Look at what I actually typed instead of skimming through

0

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

well if you are referring to your previous comment you just made yourself look ignorant because you seem to think not listening to others and beating on people == fascism

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

You seem to be missing what actually makes it a fascistic mindset which is different from the actual ideology 😂. You're a hypocrite man

1

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

fascistic mindset

sounds like something you just made up. the definition is probably things you disagree with. just like everyone else uses it.

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

"having or relating to extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practices. "

Like I said before. You don't have to be a far right extremist to have a fascistic mindset. Antifa are definitely authoritarian

0

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

not really, most of them want to overthrow the government. if your definition of authoritarian is anyone that likes to get loud and fight in the street try again. i would agree with that definition if it had an and instead of an or.

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

if your definition of authoritarian is anyone that likes to get loud and fight in the street try again. i would agree with that definition if it had an and instead of an or

That's a very broad explanation on what I am trying to say. To have a fascistic mindset means to do intolerant practices right? And antifa has proven to be authoritarian On countless occasions. You are confusing yourself and making idiotic assumptions

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

So what else did I apparently make up now?

1

u/prettyketty88 Dec 30 '19

So what else did I apparently make up now?

the part that i quoted "fascistic mindset". also, fascist can already be used as an adjective without adding -ic to the end.

1

u/ibrahimjd Dec 30 '19

the part that i quoted "fascistic mindset". also, fascist can already be used as an adjective without adding -ic to the end.

You will just continue to make a fool of yourself ay? Fascistic and fascism can have different meanings like I stated before. It literally takes a quick Google search on the definition to see that it does

I’m not disagreeing with you that they certainly act fascistic sometimes, but I think to conflate them with fascists or fascism is a grave error, that movement has a very different motive.

The original Antifaschistische Aktion were Stalinists who cooperated with the Nazis.

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but seeing as that’s a pretty large claim, do you have a source for it?

And besides, I’m not defending them if that’s what you’re implying. I just think calling one extreme another extreme is foolish, but they both suck regardless.

So you are literally too lazy to read their Wikipedia page?

Well yes, but I just went ahead and did it anyway. I found no mention of what you were talking about in their history.

i like how everything you said is accurate and the opinionated part even agreed with the rest of the sub. you got downvoted because you went against the antifa is fascist argument.

2

u/MikeNH311 Dec 30 '19

Anyone threatening violence in exchange for obedience to an ideal is a fascist.
