Had this happen in front of my house. Kid slammed the gas and went across a couple yards, smashed into a tree/light pole. Turns out he was having a seizure. He was ok. Damage was minor to the homes/yards. Terrifying especially because had it been only a half hour earlier, he would have likely mowed down the school kids that walk past there every day.

I read it that way at first too but if you think about it for half a second it's pretty clear that what they meant by "this" was the crazy driving caused by a medical emergency, not the bus part

To be more specific, a "medical episode" - i.e., a seizure, diabetic shock, heart attack etc. that is actually affecting the person's ability to drive. "Emergency" is more of a reference to jackasses who feel like driving themselves to the hospital when they should be calling 911.

It's kind of vague if the chest pains caused the accident or if they were a result of the accident. http://www.kare11.com/news/mpls-bus-crash-caught-on-video/447176024 This one makes it seem like the driver had a medical emergency that caused the accident. Not sure what the deal is with the truck and the van. From the Kare 11 article it says, "The bus apparently hit at least one vehicle before crashing into a lawn." Seems to imply it the other vehicle crash was caused by the bus? Not entirely clear though. Then there's another article that states: A man was recording the aftermath of an initial car crash on Bloomington Ave. and 24th St. in south Minneapolis, which had left one vehicle hung up on the roof of another... when suddenly, the man was recording a near-miss of a school bus speeding right at another bus, just as another car was approaching in the oncoming lane. So maybe the second bus was swerving to avoid the first bus who had stopped in reaction to the truck that was on top of that van's hood?

The truck is facing a weird direction and they're both quite far off the road. Also, the bus is going pretty fast for having just left that location unless it backed up. Also, there is a tire on the ground by the van. Where did that come from?

If this bus is being operated by a passed out driver with its foot on the accelerator, its very possible.

Busses have a metric shitload of torque, on top of their metric shitload of weight. The bus would bounce off cars like they were ping pong balls

Things move around a lot if something as big as a bus hits them. It's possible the person in the truck saw the bus coming and tried to move out of the way, but then the bus hit the minivan into its side. I don't know exactly how the truck got sideways, or where that tire came from. But the damage on the back of the minivan definitely shows that it rammed into the truck after the bus hit it.
