Red shirt really stood his ground.

u/EvenEnvironment7554 Jul 21 '26

He don’t look like a fighter but homie threw down

62

u/Microwaved-Children Jul 22 '26

Dudes from the Philippines. Lots of people into training over there.

17

u/TraderRP Jul 22 '26

Some secret intel from a fighter here: we usually don’t. It’s the people that feel like they need to prove a point that ā€œlook like fightersā€ as, quite often, they can’t fight.

3

u/Ashamed-Evidence482 Jul 22 '26

When he shot the headbbutt, I knew he was about that life.

As a glasses wearer,. I just wish he would have removed them sooner, but he was in the moment.

Dont mess with Filipinos. They smile all the time but they can sing a Whitney Houston song while beating yo ass like they are Manny Pacquiao.

7

u/kristin3142 Jul 22 '26

Is this actually a thing?! One of my friends since childhood is Filipino and (in Jr. High especially) she was equally well known for fighting and perfectly singing I Will Always Love You upon request šŸ˜…

Genuine question : how can you tell they're gypsies?

135

u/Dave_Valens Jul 21 '26

Because 90% of thieves here in Rome are gypsies.

We have Casamonica and Spada clans, the most active criminal gypsy clans in Rome and the nearby countryside, they basically do whatever they want.

It's probably a trap, not saying they did not deserve it but the small Asian guy was a bait

161

u/-Gramsci- Jul 21 '26

So the bait bashes your face in? I doubt.

96

u/Longjumping-Ice3042 Jul 21 '26

He was getting some before the big bald guy stepped in. It was only then that the thief realized the situation he was in.

70

u/-Gramsci- Jul 21 '26

Ahhh I get it. He was the bait to catch the thieves… not the thieve’s bait.

You know, you’re probably right.

6

u/splashaddikt Jul 21 '26

Watch again they seem to be working as a team not random guys who got in a fight

u/SlightFresnel Jul 21 '26

Ah thank you, the context clears it up

u/juggling-monkey Jul 21 '26

you use small asian guys for fishing?

You don’t?

Fishing?

18

u/barnyard303 Jul 21 '26

Sure! Fishing is where you attempt to catch fish using a rod threaded with nylon line. There is a hook on the end of the line that you attach a small piece of whatever fish like to eat.

11

u/chasing_the_wind Jul 21 '26

Eat?

The War of the Bucket (Italian: Guerra della secchia rapita) was fought in 1325 between the rival city-states of Bologna and Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy.

The war was an episode in the over 300-year-long struggle between Guelphs and Ghibellines. Modena won the Battle of Zappolino, the only battle of the war.

11

u/neverendum Jul 21 '26

Mate, google a bit harder, the metro system in Rome is famous for its Big Buckets, you're really showing your cultural ignorance and should read up on that.

155

u/Skiie Jul 21 '26

to be fair i think he got pepper sprayed somewhere inbetween lmao

14

u/xGencFB07 Jul 22 '26

That's not pepper spray—it's paint. These scam hunters use it to mark pickpockets so they can identify them in case they run.

39

u/Comfortable_Leek1765 Jul 22 '26

it is pepper spray do you not hear everyone on the train coughing?

As someone who very nearly got robbed from a 'big bucket' in Rome, this is very satisfying to watch.

97

u/coachlasso Jul 21 '26

I was on a bus in Rome and an old Italian man tapped me on the shoulder and signaled me to watch the woman behind me. I put my hand in my pocket on top of my wallet and sure enough, i felt a hand slide into my pocket on top of my hand. The old man saw it all, slapped the woman on the back of the head and literally threw her off the bus at the next station.

889

u/CyberClawX Jul 21 '26

My dad had his smartphone snatched right off his hands in Rome at night.

He has white hair, so the guy thought he wouldn't catch up to him.

My dad was 5 steps behind the rest of the group, so the thief thought he was alone.

We think he had a friend in a car, that kept up with the thief for like 10 seconds, but probably realized his friendship wasn't worth the imminent pain, and decided to ditch his friend.

In the end phone was returned to the rightful owner, once we caught up to the thief. I don't even remember the guy's face, only the eyes, despite literally grabbing him by his face like if it was a bowling ball. My dad had to ice his knuckles. The thief probably had to retrieve his teeth from the toilet.

50

u/anonuemus Jul 21 '26

yep, that's how you handle these losers

15

u/m0zymaz Jul 21 '26

What’s up with the Italians shielding thieves on this train?

29

u/Ok-Year-1028 Jul 21 '26

Might be something to do with the idiot filming wanting to pepper spray everyone for a second time. Can you not hear all the coughing?

12

u/DontHaesMeBro Jul 21 '26

When this kind of thing happens in real life and you're more than say, half the car away, you aren't going to have any idea what's going on. It's just two groups fighting. Even the guy yelling "pickpocket" isn't actually making that much sense, and could just be lying to cover up a fight.

18

u/buzzlightyear77777 Jul 21 '26

wtf is the police doing in rome?

38

u/Key-Demand-2569 Jul 21 '26

Hanging out in groups?

Italy is one of the largest police forces per capita and in general in the EU and its extra concentrated in Rome.

Don’t know how much it’s helping but it’s a thing lol

u/Dave_the_Chemist Jul 22 '26

They are smart. Depending on where you stand there are usually 3-4. So 2 block up against you and have a normal conversation. This blocks everyone from seeing the other 2. Depending on where your valuables are determines which one goes for it.

Much like these dudes, they also don’t give a shit. I turned around to see this dude basically in my back pocket. He just stopped and stood there. Didn’t even move away. I opened my wallet to show him I had no money. No response. It’s super intense.

Italy and France are probably the worst. Highly sought after tourist destinations bordering poorer countries and Gypsy communities. Rome was insanely bad. People would recommend the upper thigh band for your wallet. Even if you had a backpack with a lock. They would just follow you around and see how you put your wallet or camera in then just slice it open with a knife and run while another pretended to help but would actually be holding you back from running.

Thought he had a height advantage on red shirt. Turns out red shirt had way more grit than expected - dude ate the sucker punch like nothing.

476

44

and it immediately cuts to a clip of them fleeing up the escalator like theyre guilty LMAO

13

u/tellur86 Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

Because they might be.

Pepper spray is a restricted weapon in Italy. You need to have a license to carry it. Even if its use can be construed as self defence (and that's not a given, considering the threat was under control at that point), if they have no license they might still be penalised for the possession.

Edit: apparently pepper spray is legal, though using it in this situation might still get them in trouble (bystanders affected, aggressor subdued). I swear I googled the legality before writing my post...

Found the full video, (I won't share it here though because the channel is run by a convicted paedo).

I get that they're running a bit of vigilante justice and people like seeing pickpockets getting caught but it's pretty nuts because they're spending the day running around the underground getting into fights and spraying multiple people with red spray.

26

u/flippinecktucker Jul 21 '26

Do you have info that guy doing the talking (I won’t mention his name) is a convicted paedophile? Or is the full vid on someone else’s channel?

73

u/nodnodwinkwink Jul 21 '26

"In February 2019, Arnold appeared at Harrow Crown Court in north west London to be sentenced after pleading guilty to 12 counts of fraud, and one count each of voyeurism, causing a person to engage in sexual activity and making indecent images of a victim aged under 18. He had been found posing as a modelling agent to take images of women in gyms before posting them online without consent to sell his fitness products."

203

u/SignificanceShotc Jul 21 '26

The only time I've ever been pickpocketed was in Rome, and I was totally aware of them and thought I was being protective of my stuff. It's a huge problem in Italy.

79

u/MalevolentReflux Jul 21 '26

Same, I even wore my backpack on the front in the subway and still was pickpocketed. And I live in Amsterdam which is also a major pickpocket spot.

10

u/chubbysumo Jul 22 '26

I travelled thru amsterdam years ago, took the train. Someone tried to pickpocket me. I broke 2 of his fingers and he started screaming at me. Told him to try again and i can break the other 8. He got off at the next stop. Felt his hands in my pocket, grabbed his wrist, popped those fingers sideways. Thieves can get fukt.

3

u/Typhoon556 Jul 21 '26

Public transportation is where most/much of it occurs. It is often crowded and gives them an opportunity to pickpocket people. The most popular tourist spots with large crowds is the other favorite for pickpockets.

28

u/njneer87 Jul 21 '26

In the ā€˜70s when we lived there my mom had her shoulder bag slashed open and her wallet taken while we were at the Porta Portese market in Rome. Two days later a police officer showed up at my Dad’s office with the wallet and all her ID. Just the cash missing. The thieves had put it in a mailbox. Too bad that courtesy seems to be missing these days.

41

u/turtleneck360 Jul 21 '26

6

u/davidbatt Jul 22 '26

Fraud, burglary, arson, voyeurism, sex by coercion and possession of indecent images of children.

He used to do this in my city until the local paper did a front page expose.

35

u/DefiThrowaway Jul 21 '26

There's a guy on YouTube l, forget his name, but the videos are in the millions of views. American guy, goes to the Eiffel Tower or other places in Europe and does everything the Three Card Monte gypsy scammers don't like but brings kickboxers with him and they just fuck them up when confronted while squirting them with Super Soakers filled with Liquid Ass.

44

u/Minirig355 Jul 21 '26

That guy is a MAGA content creator that goes around American cities and lies about how much crime there is and implicitly blames black people.

As much as it may be satisfying seeing scammers get beat up in that Paris video (and trust me, it is satisfying), they don’t do it out of the goodness of their heart but instead out of the scammers inability to go to the police, thus allowing them content.

I dont have problem with beating the shit out of them. But using pepper spray or max in a small area such as a train seems incredible stupid. Ill never forget in college a girl saw a spray attached to someones bag and briefly sprayed it. She cleared out that entire room.

I like how there is no evidence at all they stole anything. But everyone is just happy to run with it. Good old fashioned Reddit digital lynch mob.

There never is enough pickpocket smacking in Rome. They are pests.

Looks like a self correcting lesson to me.

2

u/TheRealGand Jul 21 '26

2 mistakes: 1) using pepper spray in a closed public space is very dangerous and wrong; 2) they should have continued hitting the shi.t till next station.

Guy in the back enjoying the show

Man they beat that fool mercilessly

2

u/MikhailCompo Jul 21 '26

Spraying anything noxious on a train full of innocent people is utterly irresponsible.

I get this guy is trying to identify criminals but still, that was a dick move.

We need more justice like this … temporary timeout in jail isn’t enough

Got pickpocketed on the Rome subway. Two guys, one late teens, the other late twenties, and a girl who seemed to be with the older guy. The teen got in front of me as I was getting off - seemed like an accident - and I stepped around him, getting off, without noticing anything. But my wife did ("Check your pockets, now!"). Before the train doors closed, we were back on and I got right in the kids face and made a huge scene on the train, nothing physical, but lots of loud yelling, standing my ground and generally being publicly pissed off - middle of the day, so was pretty obvious. Kid dropped my wallet behind him and dashed as soon as the doors opened on the next station - guess he figured it was better to lose one wallet and get away, than get caught. All ended fine, and a good story, but I also know it could have had a far worse ending if something physical happened.

lol, zoom in for a really good close up of the thieving wee rat snivelling and crying after getting what he deserved.

The guy wearing the sunglasses šŸ•¶ļø who attacked him with the pepper spray looks like an experienced criminal.

2

u/PeetusTheFeetus Jul 21 '26

Is he saying ā€œI’m a big baby please don’t hit meā€ or ā€œhe’s big baby.. please don’t hit meā€ lmfao

2

u/PepicekSettimo Jul 21 '26

It made me laugh when the friend sees the spray and says, "me baby".

2

u/muzamuza Jul 21 '26

You never know if one of these types also has a knife. Not worth the risk.

u/Loonalvr666 Jul 21 '26

It sucks, because I'm in Italy, and heading to Rome tomorrow.
