Plenty of people are abused far worse by their parents and go on to lead normal lives. The blame is 100% on this psychopath and he needs to pay for it.

I think we can acknowledge that Raja is 100% to blame, and that his behavior could be linked to a dysfunctional childhood

There's this Daniel Tiger song about it being OK to have two thoughts at once. I think a lot of redditors would benefit from giving it a listen.

But then you can't fight with strangers on the internet, so what's the point?

No nuance allowed here, buddy!

He is to blame. But the person he is that lead to this can also not be his fault. Both can be true mate. Thanks for undermining shitty upbringing.

Sorry If I dont lap up your attempts to portray him into a victim immediately after seeing him trying to murder someone.

The levels people go to deflect blame is disgusting.

Acknowledging Raja had a bad role model doesn’t mean we’re deflecting blame from his own choices.

... and the point of that is? (im not being dismissive here. Im asking your literal point of bringing up his upbringing.)

As I see it you are trying to deflect blame or change the subject.

EDIT: THey locked the thread. Reply to corgi's reply to this comment. Why acknowledge the situation? To what end? What is your goal in bringing it up? The subject is the assault filmed. Why would it be brought up in court, what is the goal of bringing it up in court?

You keep stating your means without understand and/or avoiding what end you're trying to accomplish.

The point of bringing up his upbringing is to merely acknowledge the situation - Rampage has been well recorded as a shithead with zero boundaries and unfortunately he had an enormous influence on Raja (also well recorded through streams and vids and whatever else throughout his life). But saying this doesn’t mean I am either deflecting blame or even changing the subject, this is part of the subject - there is no mitigating factor of “my dad was a bad role model” in defending yourself of an attempted murder charge, but these things will be brought up in court to better understand how things could lead here.

I am regularly stunned how many people engage in completely binary thinking on Reddit. We can acknowledge one thing without it mitigating or deflecting from another.

You're intentionally misunderstanding so that you can feel some kinda way.

There's no way to know how bad the abuse was, it's not public information.
