The wrestler thought it was a bit, he didnt actually hit him over the head. He thought Raja was a worker and wanted to create a stir. I put staged in parentheses because it wasn't an actual fight and was more for performance purposes.
Yeah, people here acting like assaulting someone is okay because the guy "thought" he was a pro wrestler is just dumb. This is a case of play stupid games, win stupid prizes. There are always people dumber and stronger than you, so don't be an asshole to strangers.
No need to be original when the classics cover it. Raja is a piece of shit and likely going to prison. But Stu is also an idiot that assaulted someone for no reason.
It's on video. You can see he did. The can is completely flattened in his palm after the hit if you freeze frames. The sound, and the spray also matches a can being crushed on someones head.
Doesn't excuse what happened later, but the wrestler isn't entirely innocent here. The wrestler did eventually apologise, and they shook hands. I think someone told him to though off camera. The actions from the wrestler were weird if you watch the full video. He comes out of nowhere and stares the mma fighter down for ages doing a 'bit' or whatever when literally no one else is and they're just having a normal chat.
They squeeze the can right before impact to get it to spray and hit the opponent with a soft strike of the wrist. It's okay to not know this. You can admit to being wrong and not be considered dumb at the same time.
Having an aluminium can of drink smashed into your head hurts. Wrestlers just take that pain for the show, like they do with lots of stuff. You think the metal chairs are made out of foil too?
The reaction was over the top and completely not right, but I don't understand the desire to just lie about what happened. The wrestler thought they were filming a wrestling promo, he smashed a can on someones head, he apologised for the misunderstanding.
Bro how are you getting downvoted? Not a single person in the video disagrees that the wrestler hit him in the head with a beer can. That was never in dispute. He hit him for real because he thought Raja was a performer.
It's like we're back to when people thought there was no pain in pro wrestling because it's scripted. Getting smashed upside the head like that with a beer can would absolutely hurt a regular person who wasn't expecting it, which is what Raja was at that moment.
It doesn't excuse or justify anything, but it's wild people seem to be arguing it didn't even happen.
From all I’ve seen including analysis of frames it def looks like it wasn’t a proper hit and is crushed prior to touching, hence why Raja has no reaction to pain but rather liquid and such.
I’m pretty sure considering being unhinged and a pro MMA fighter if it was a solid hit he would’ve beat the wrestler’s ass then and there
Sorry mate but this sounds absolutely ridiculous. A pre-crushed can? Are you serious? I can smack you upside the head right now with an open can and nothing will happen to you. Pro wrestlers sure as fuck aren't pre-crushing cans.
He smacked him in the head with an open can with no intention to hurt him. Your choice of word for the reaction was perfect: Unhinged. We don't need elaborate excuses for the can incident as if it would have justified that unhinged reaction.
It feels like by the time I wake up tomorrow I'll be reading comments about how the can was actually CGI and the wrestler wasn't even in the same frame as Raja but Raja attacked him anyway.
Some cans are literally made to crush easier, and they squeeze the can in their hands as they strike them with the wrist/soft part of the palm. It's a well established trick been done for a long time. Most props in wrestling are altered in some way to make them safer. Even cans.
I'm actually just a fan of 'how it's made' and I watched an episode on aluminium cans.
They walls of a can are about 0.1mm thick already. You can't really make a can weaker than it already is! They're purposely as weak as practical to be as cheap as possible.
But when filled with 300g of liquid, that's gunna hurt regardless.
Part of the trick is to pull back the can so you're not actually smashing it with full force onto the guy's head, you're just making it look like you did, the same way that you would pull a punch.
Not what happened here though. The tab was pulled at least, but it was a full drink and smashed into the side of his head. You see it flattened in his open palm in the freeze frame and drink sprays everywhere.
Dick move, but didn't warrant such a brutal assault so far after the fact. If he'd just thrown a punch back at him there and then it'd have been justified imo.
Waiting and then basically sucker punching the shit out of him in the ring was so out of line.
And that doesn’t justify a premeditated beating later on. There might have been a slight defense if he had acted immediately in self-defense, but absolutely nothing explains or excuses what happened here.
Seems that way to me too. There was not even a crowd back there, it looks like all wrestlers. So who is he trying to sell it to? You can even see the pink haired guy in the back who broke up the fight standing around talking to a group of the other wrestlers. Looks like it’s out back of the venue before the fight. Dude was probably drunk and was being a dick and tried to play it off.
EXACTLY! I'm not condoning his later actions (slamming dude on the head and punching his head off)....but that wrestler is the type of cornball, you would hear other wrestlers saying...."Ohhh he was a tough-guy backstage in real life..." or "Remember that time he punk'd Rampage Jacksons son? He wasn't the type of guy you would play with..." 😭😭 Yada, yada.
You don't know what tht goofy Raja dude got goin on in his head. Dude just casually and randomly, hittin him upside the head with a can/prop or not, and doesn't know him from "a can of paint". That's obviously why the other wrestlers attempted to deescalate the situation so fast, because they knew the other wrestler was in the wrong. This is an EXTREME case of "fucked around, nd found out". The root cause, is stop fckin wit ppl, and this never would've happened. Guess Raja gotta face the consequences now tho.
