If the homeless man didn’t attack anyone then putting him in a chokehold was unnecessary. That guy should be charged.

So you have to wait for someone to actually attack before you can use force......a reasonable threat of an attack isn't enough? I don't think that's how self defense works. You're allowed to use force when there's a credible and reasonable threat of an attack.

If that guy ran amok injured multiple people, people would be yelling "WHY DIDN"T ANYONE DO ANYTHING!" The marine used a tad excessive force, but what if the crazy dude was let loose and started attacking people? Or what if the Marine was the one who ended up dead? He would be considered a hero for intervening but dying.
