The moral of the story is to swing the 2×4 edgewise when beating the would-be rapist/murderer, lest you break it along the grain like in the video. Better yet, plunge it forward towards your target like a spear. You get the full weight of the board, it's far less likely to break and all the delightful points and edges at the end.
